LOVlLlA -- Christina Anne Toopes, 45, of Lovilia died May 6. 1998, at University Hospitals in lowa City.
She was born April 3. 1953. in Woodbridge. Englnnd. to Teddy C.and Collern Clipperton Visser.She married Leonard Toopes on March I 1. 1972. in Lovilia.
She was a 1971 Albia High School graduate. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville, Oakwood Estates in Albia and Hardee's in Albia. She was a member of Lovilia United Methodist Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband; her parents; three sons, Chad of Ottumwa, James and John of Lovilia; and a brother. Larry Visser of Lovilia.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry, in infancy.
The service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lovilia United Methodist Church, the Rev. Gordon Vickery officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at Gilbert-Nordstom Funeral Homes in Lovilia.
Pallbearers will be Mike Kearney, Steve Arnold. Bob Toopes, Greg Shelford. Steve Ogle and Chris McCombs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Bellon, Fred McCombs, Tom Chamberlain and Seth Visser. Memorials may be made to Lovilia United Methodist Church.
