My Family Tree

The files below are as accurate as we can be at this point. Wedon't suggest that they are 100% accurate but are as complete andaccurate as we can be right now. Should you have any corrections oradditions for the file please send the information to the personscreating the file so corrections and additions can be made to correctthe file. These files are furnished for personal use only. I do haveGED copies of all these files except the Cathey file and can send thefiles to anyone wanting to work with the file with a genealogyprogram (you must have such a program to work with GED files). If youhave any questions about the files please contact the person(s)listed as the author of the file at the address given.

Penix

The first known Penix so far is Isaac Penix but little is knownabout him. I have set the file so Joshua Penix and Ann Cathey is thestartup card for the file. All dates provided are accurate as far aswe can determine but in some cases are approximate but won't beindicated as such. Any conflicts that you may have with the giveninformation should be reported to me so we can verify and correct ifneeded. This file was worked on by several people so I can't vouch for the accuracy of anything stated in the file but it is as accurateas we can be right now.

The Other Penix Families

There is a second Penix family that has yet to be connected to our family. This family is being researched by Charles Penix and Shirley Beers. In the early years many settled in the Ohio area and they like us have been connected to the Pennock surname. One of the earliest was Thomas Penix who is the home card for the file. Update on this family line is that Charles and I have taken a DNA test and it showsthat there is a 99.9% possibility that we have a common ancestor so Iguess we really are connected at some point but we still don't know where.

A third branch has now been added from the Jeff Penix line.

Davis/Fugate

The Davis/Fugate connection is by marriage with the first one weknow of being Isaac Penix to Sarah Davis. Checking the surnames forPenix and selecting Isaac will bring you to this connection which isprobably a good place to start with the file if you are checking thePenix connections. This file was obtained by Bob Adams from someonedoing research on the Davis surname. If you have questions, corrections or additions for the file please contact me and I willput you in touch with the person who wrote the file. Obviously sinceI didn't write the file I can't vouch for its accuracy but I beliveif is fairly accurate. This file no longer appears on my home pagedue to the lack of space. Contact me via email for a GED copy of the file.

Cathey

The Cathey family is connected to the Penix family by marriagewith the first known marriages being of Joshua Penix to Anna Catheyand Joshuas Brother William Penick who married Agnes Cathey. I'm toldby Jessie Underwood that there was an earlir marrige but to thispoint there has been no verification of this. Again starting withJoshua will bring you to the connection for most of the Penix family. This is a very large file going way back to Ireland for the Catheyfamily. Again since I didn't create the file I can't vouch for itsaccuracy but I can put you in touch with the person that did the fileif you have questions, corrections or additions. This file is kept byMarty Grant whose address will be listed at the site where the fileis maintained.

JoeDutton has provided us with a smaller(clicking on the file will download it for you as a zipped file) filethat pertains to the Penix family only. The entire(click on entire to download this file) file has over 62,000 fileseach taking a minimum of 1K or 2 K each so the entire file will takewill take over 4M to download the entie file. Anyone having a programthat will import GED files can contact me for the entire file. Thisfile now appears on my home page. You can view this file by clickingonfile.

A file that Bob Adams started from varies sources.

Book

At one time I organized the information about the Penix family that my aunt had collected and put it into a book. Thebook sections that can be downloaded, viewed and printed for personal use only. To download the files you will need at least version 3.2 of Adobe Reader. The files are in pdf format and can be read by any type of computer using Adobe Reader which normally is a helper with your browser. To save the file with an IBM or compatible you can right click on the given link at the next page to save the file to your desktop then double click on the file after it downloads, with a Mac just click on the link. An error normally means you don't have the latest version of Adobe Reader which can be upgraded from adobe.com for free. I'd suggest if you have to upgrade your reader program that you rebuild your desktop and double click on the upgraded reader program once since the preferences will remain for the older version until you run the upgraded program.
