Under Construction!!!!!

This site is dedicated to that line of my ancestors who felt the need to hide.  Unable to advance, surrounded by prejudice, and isolated by history and geography, they changed their names to change their color, leaving later generations lost.

I admire their courage while I regret their choices.  Knowing from my research how very tightly knit and supportive they were, it saddens me terribly to realize the horrible decision that was made around the turn of the last century.  The many descendants of this line that I have found share with me almost complete ignorance of our true origins in this country.  We have speculated and theorized for hundreds of hours.

This site contains a great deal more than one family's history.  It is the history of a nation, the afterbirth of bondage, and the residue still of fear and hatred.
