MICHAEL DRUCE (BORN 1817)

Michael was baptised at St John's Church on 27 January 1821 on the same day as his sister Sarah (born 1819). He was the eldest son of James (born 1798) and Sarah.

Michael married Susan George (daughter of David George, a weaver from Marston) on 2 February 1840 at the Parish Church in Marston. They were married by The Reverend R.C. Boyle in the presence of Daniel Mead and Mary Ann Mead. A copy of the marriage certificate is shown below.

Michael and Susan lived in Palmer Street and, according to the Census Records, lived there between 1841 and 1871. Michael was a boot and shoe maker whilst Susan was a shoe binder. They had one child, namely Edwin James (born February 1845) who was baptised at Holy Trinity Church on 7th June 1845 and died aged 4 months, being buried at St. John's Church on 13th July 1845. Michael was buried at St. John's Church on 20th December 1879 aged 62 years.
