Stockholm, November 20.

Letters which carne in from Gottenbourg two Days ago, brought Advice of the Arrival there of Mr. Edward Finch, His Britannick Majesty's Envoy Extraordinary to the King of Sweden ; and that he proposed to set out from thence last Monday, to came hither. Baron Ceder-Creutz late Envoy from this to the Russian Court, arrived here an the 10th Instant, and has since taken Possession of his Post as Secretary of State. Last Week the King of Sweden nominated Major-General Baron Bennet to be Governour of the Province of Halland, in the Room of the late Baron Faltzburg; M. Newebaur, formerly the Swedish Envoy at Constantinople, to be Chancellor in Pomerania; and Doctor Tammelin to be Bishop of Abo.



Navy Office, Dec. 9. 1728.

These are to give Notice, That the Ships Tickets entered on the List of Arrears before No. 3938, will begin to be paid in Course in in a few Days at the Pay-Office in Broad-Street, the List now paying there being near finished.




East-India House, Dec. 4, 1728.

The Court of Directors of the United Company of Merchants of England Trading to the East Indies, do hereby give Notice, That a General Court of the said Company will be holden at their House in Fenchurch-Street, London, on Wednesday the 18th of this Instant December, at Eleven in the Forenoon, the same being a Quarterly Court: And that the Transfer Books the said Company will be shut up from Thursday the 19th of this Instant December, to Thursday the 16th of January next : And that the Annuity and Dividend Warrants due at Christmas next, will be ready to be delivered to the Adventurers on Tuesday the 28th of said January next.

The Trustees appointed by Act of Parliament for Sale or the Estates of the late Directors of the South-Sea Company and others, give Notice, that they intend to expose to Sale by Cant or Auction, to the best Bidder, in the Hall of the South-Sea-House, on Wednesday the 18 Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, the several Estates following viz. Several Freehold Lands and Tenements at Putney, in the County of Surrey late the Estate of Sir Theodere Janssen, Knight and Baronet, one of the late Directors of the said Company. The Moyety of the Mannor of Eastham Burnells, Westham Burnells, East, Westham, and Plays alias Place, and divers Lands and Tenements in Barking, Woolwich, Eastham and Westham, in the Counties of Essex and Kent; several Freehold Houses at Ratcliffe-Cross, in the County of Middlesex; several Freehold Houses in Ironmonger-Lane and Cloak-Lane, in the City of London, late the Estates of Sir John Blunt, Baronet, one of the said late Directors. An Estate for Life in a Farm at Buckald-Row, in the Parish of Bradfield, in the County of Berks, late the Estate of Mr. Robert Knight, late Cashire of the said Company. A Freehold Farm at Twining and Myth, in the County of Gloucester; and several Freehold Houses at Lyme Regis, in the County of Dorset, late the Estates of Mr. Robert Surman, late Deputy Cashire of the said Company. Particulars of the said Estates may be had at the Trustees said Office.




CUSTOM-HOUSE, London, Dec. 11, 1728.

For Sale by Order of the Hon. Commissioners of His Majesty's Customes. On Wednesday the 18th Instant, at Two Clock in the Afternoon, will be exposed to Sale by Inch of Candle, in the Long Room at the Custom House, London, A Parcel of Snuff, Tobacco, Skins, Millinary, and Haberdashery, Grocery Ware, Drugs, Pictures, Brandy, Geneva, Salt Petree, Decay'd Wine, (clear of all Duties) A Parcel of Cocoa Paste and Chocolate, to pay the Inland Duty of One Shilling and Six Pence per Pound. And are to be seen at the King's Warehouse on Monday the 16th, Tuesday the 17th, from Eight to Twelve in the Forenoon, and from Two till Five in the Afternoon, and all the Morning before the Sale. As also a Boat; which is to be seen the Days before mentioned at the Tobacco Ground over-against Somerset House. N.B. The Buyer to pay sown in Part Five Guineas each Lot; but where the Lots do not amount to Twenty Shillings, the Buyer is to pay the whole. And the Goods to be taken away with all Faults in Fourteen Days, or the Lot Money will be forfeited, and the Goods to be resold.




CUSTOM-HOUSE, London, Dec. 11.1728.

For Sale, by Order of the Honourable Commissioners of His Majesty's Customs. On Thursday the 19th Instant, at Two a-Clock in the Afternoon, will be exposed to Sale, by Inch of Candle, in the Long Room of the Custom House, London, Fifty One Hogsheads of Leaf Tobacco, imported from York River in Virginia, clear of all Duties, in Time. The Samples of each Hogshead to be seen at His Majesty's Warehouse on Tuesday the 17th and Wednesday the 18th Instant, from Eight to Twelve in the Forenoon, and from Two till Five in the Afternoon, and on Thursday all the Morning before the Sale. And also at the same Time will be exposed for Sale, Thirty Hogsheads of decayed Wine, upon the Lees. To be seen at a Warehouse in Brewer's Key Gateway, No 1, at the Days and Times abovementioned.

ALL Persons that have any Demands upon the Estate of John Stockley, late of Rose-street, near Hog-Lane, in the Parish of St. Ann, Westminster, in the County of Middlesex, Carman, deceased, are forthwith to come before William Kinaston, Esq; one of the Masters of the High Court of Chancery, and prove their Debts.




Pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, and by Virtue of an Order of the said Court, this is to give Notice to such of the Creditors of Francis Brace, late of Bedford, Gent. deceased, as have not already proved their debts before Mark Thurston, Esq; one of the Masters of the said Court, that they do by the first Day of the next Hilary Term come in and prove their Debts before the said Master, or else they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Decree.




Pursuant to a Decree of the Honourable Court of Exchequer, the Creditors of George Townesend, late of Lincoln's Inn, Esq; deceased, are forthwith to prove their Debts before John Harding, Esq; Deputy Remembrancer of the said Court, at the Exchequer Office in the Inner Temple.




THE Tythes of Aldborough, Dunsforth, Branton, and Ellinthorp, in the County of York, being a Leasehold for three Lives, under the Dean and Chapter of York, and late belonging to Charles Wilkinson Esq; are, pursuant to a Decree of the Honourable Court of Exchequer, to be forthwith sold before John Harding, Esq; Deputy Remembrancer of the said Count, at the .Exchequer Office, in the Temple; where Particulars may be had.




TO be sold to the best Bidder, on the 23d Day of January next, at the House of John Davies, known by the Sign of the Crown in Wem, in the County of Salop, by the Assignees under a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against John Chettoe, late of Wem aforesaid, Maltster and Timber Merchant, several Freehold and Copyhold Tenements, of the clear yearly Value of One Hundred and Ninety Pounds or thereabouts, late the Estate of the said Chettoe. Particulars may be had of Mr. Thomas Bayley, of Preston Brockhurst, or Mr. George Wood, of Aston Reynolds, the Assignees.




Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt hath been awarded against Samuel Bromfield, of Kidderminster, in the County of Worcester, Victualler and Peruke-maker and he being declared a Bankrupt ; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners on the 23d Instant, at the King's Arms Inn in Stourbridge, in the said County of Worcester, on the 31st Instant, at the Raven Inn in Wribbenhall, in the said County of Worcester, and on the 13th of January next, at the Talbot at the Cross in the City of Worcester, at Eleven in the Forenoon ; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution-Money, and chuse Assignees.




Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded against John Whitaker, of Epsom, in the County of Surrey, Wine-Cooper and Victualler, and he being declared a Bankrupt; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners on the 20th and 23d Instant, and on the 13th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution Money, and chuse Assignees. Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded against Sampson Bastard, late of the Parish of St. David's, within the County of the City of Exon, Maltmaker, and he being declared a Bankrupt; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners on the 19th and 23d Instant, and on the 13th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon,. at Jones's Coffee-house in the said City of Exon ; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution Money, and chuse Assignees.




Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded against Edward Enock, of the Parish, of St. Leonard Shoreditch, in the County of Middlesex, Timber Merchant, and he being declared a Bankrupt; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners on the 18th and 20th Instant, and on the 13th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution-Money, and chuse Assignees. Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded against David Baxter, of the Parish of St.Margaret, Lothbury, in the City of London, Warehouseman, and he being declared a Bankrupt; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissioners on the 18th and 24th Instant, and on the 13th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution-Money, and chuse Assignees. All Persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or that have any Effects of his in their Hands, are to give Notice to Mr. Richard Eadnell, Attorney, in Old Southampton Buildings, Chancery-lane, London.




Whereas John Smith, of Gainsborongh, in the County of Lincoln; Mercer, hath surrendered himself (pursuant to Notice) and been twice examined; This is to give Notice, that he will attend the Commissioners on the 23d Instant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, to finish his Examination; when and where the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution Money, and assent to or dissent from the Allowance of his Certificate.




Whereas Ralph Royle, of the Borough of Southwark, in the County of Surrey, Woolstapler and Mercer, hath surrendered himself (pursuant to Notice) and been twice examined; This is to give Notice, that he will attend the Commissioners on the 30th Instant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, to finish his examination; when and where the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution Money, and assent to or dissent from the Allowance of his Certificate.




THE Commissioners in a renewed Commission of Bankrupt awarded against John Watkins, of Stroud, in the County of Gloucester, Clothier, intend to meet on the 31st of December Instant, at Ten in the Forenoon, at the House of John Hollyday, Innholder, known by the Sign of the Crown in Michinhampton, in the County of Gloucester aforesaid, to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate ; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a renewed Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Nathaniel Gardiner, late of Minchinhampton, in the County of Gloucester, Clothier, intend to meet on the first of January next, at Ten in the Forenoon, at the House of John Hollyday, Innholder, known by the Sign of the Crown in Minchinhampton aforesaid, to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate, when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against John Nettleton, of Boston, in the County of Lincoln, Chapman, intend to meet on the 7th of January next, at Ten in the Forenoon, at the Sign of the Peacock in Boston aforesaid, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Jacob Follyard, of Mile-End, in the County of Middlesex, Chapman, intend to meet on the 10th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend. And all Persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or that have any of his Effects, are forthwith to pay and deliver the same to Mr. Unwin, Attorney, in Bucklersbury London, or they will be sued.




THE Commissioners in a renewed Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Thomas Miller, of the Town of Northampton, in the County of Northampton, Innholder and Chapman, intend to meet on Monday the 30th Instant, at the Angel Inn in Towcester, in the County aforesaid, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate, when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Samuel Lillie, of Kirby-street, in the Parish of St. Andrew Holbourn, and County of Middlesex, Merchant, intend to meet on the 6th of January next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




Whereas the acting Commissioners, in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against William Worrall, late of Manchester, in the County of Lancaster, Linnendraper, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said William Worrall hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 3d of January next.




Whereas the acting Commissioners, in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Michael Moses, of London, Merchant and Stockjobber, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said Michael Moses hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 3d of January next.




Whereas the acting Commissioners, in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against George Maire, of the Poultry, London, Grocer, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said George Maire hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 3d of January next.




Whereas the acting Commissioners, in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Ralph Fairbrother, of Lancaster, in the County of Lancaster, Brazier and Pewterer, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said Ralph Fairbrother hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 3d of January next.
