Dublin, January 20.

YESTERDAY being the Birth-Day of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, the great Guns were fired at the Barracks, and answered by Vollies from the Regiments on Duty which were drawn out upon Oxman-town-Green. And this Day at Noon the Lords Justices met at the Castle, and received the Compliments of the Nobility and other Persons of Distinction upon this Occasion. And at Night there was a Play given by their Excellences for the Entertainment of the Ladies.




Whitehall, February 1.

To-morrow, the 2d of February, the Court goes into Mourning for the Duke of Saxen-Eysenach, and for the Princess Natalia Great Dutchess of Russia.




Custom-House. London, Jan. 28, 1728.

Whereas Jacob Walter, and Gabriel Jarvis alias Tompkins, two very notorious Oulers and Smuglers, were in the Eighth Year of His late Majesty's Reign, convicted of transporting Wooll, and resisting the Officers of the Customs in the Execution of their Duty, and thereon transported by due Course of Law, are since returned into this Kingdom, and joined with several other Smuglers in Kent and Sussex, where they continue to run great Quantities of Goods, and obstruct the Officers in the Execution of their Duty. In order therefore to bring such notorious Offenders to Justice, the Commissioners of His Majesty's Customs do, in pursuance of the Directions of the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of His Majesty's Treasury, hereby give Notice. That if any Person or Persons shall discover or apprehend the said Jacob Walter, or Gabriel Jarvis alias Tompkins, or either of them, so as they may be brought to Tryal for returning from Transportation, he or they shall have a Reward of One Hundred Pounds, clear of all Charges, to be paid by the Receiver-General and Cashire of His Majesty's Customs, for each of the aforesaid Persons so apprehended, to be paid on Conviction. The said Jacob Walter is about 50 Years of Age, a tall thin Man, stout and well made, with a longish Face and ruddy Complexion, and formerly wore a light Wig.
Gabriel Jarvis alias Tompkins is something pitted with the Small-Pox, has a very large black Eyebrow, usually wore a light Wig and Fustian Frock; is now supposed to wear his own dark brown Hair, is a tall well made Man, was shot through the Left Arm with a Brace of Bullets.




January 31, 1728,

Whereas a Letter was delivered on Wednesday Evening, by an unknown Gentleman, into the Hands of Mr. John Markham, Apothecary, in Pater-Noster-Row, one of the Treasurers of the Corporation of the Sons of the Clergy; in which Letter was inclosed two Bank Bills, amounting to the Sum of �538. 11s. 10d. to be disposed of by the Governours of the Charity for Relief of the Poor Widows and Children of Clergymen This is therefore to acknowledge the Receipt thereof, and to assure the chairable Person who sent the said Sum, that it shall be most thankfully applied according to his Desire.

PROPOSALS by Jacob Tonson for Compleating the Subscription to a new Edition of Rymer's Foedera in 17 Volumes in Folio, of which 15 Volumes will be finish'd before the 25th Day of March next.
I. The Number Printed are only 200 Copies, of which 150 are already Subscribed for.
II. This Work is Printed with the utmost Care; and to make it as exact as the Nature of it requires, and the importance it deserves, It hath been Collated anew with the Records in the Tower, by Mr. Holmes : By which means many Paragraphs and Lines omitted in the former Edition are with due Care supply'd and corrected in this, which is Printed Page for Page with the first.
III. The Price to the Subscribers of the remaining fifty Setts is fifty Guineas for each Sett in Sheets, Ten Guineas of which is to be paid at the time of Subscribing, and the remaining Forty Guineas upon Delivery of the 17 Volumes in Sheets.
N.B. The Subscriptions are taken in by J. Tonson in the Strand, and will be closed the 10th Day of March next at the farthest, or sooner if compleated before.

Notice is hereby given, by the Order of the Governour That a General Court of the Company of Mine-Adventurers of England, will be held at this Office on Thursday the 13th Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, being one of the Annual Courts prescribed by the Charter, and by the Act of Parliament relating to the Affairs of the said Company. N.B. The Transfer-Books will be closed on Monday the 3d, and opened again on Thursday the 20th of February next.

Deserted from the Hon. Capt. Charles Ingram's Company, in the Earl of Deloraine's Regiment of Foot, at Taunton in Somersetshire, the 10th of January last, with his Regimental Cloaths, George Martin, aged about 32, 5 Foot 9 Inches high, well set, full faced, salloe Complexion, a little mark'd with the Small-Pox, short brown Hair, having lately wore a Peruke, born in Harmiston, in East-Lowden, Scotland; a Gardiner by Trade. Whoever secures him in any Goal, and gives Notice to the commanding Officer of the said Regiment at Taunton, or to Richard Worthington, in Queen's Square, Westminster, shall be paid Five Guineas as a Reward.




TO be Lett by Lease, the Mannor of Goldsmiths-Hall, situate near Londonderry in Ireland, with the Demesne and other Lands and Appurtenances thereto belonging, subject to a Rent of �200. per Annum; or the Fee thereof to be sold, subject to a Rent Charge of �200. per Annum. Such Persons as are minded to treat for the same, are desired to leave Proposals in Writing (sealed up) with the Clerk of the Goldsmiths Company, in Goldsmiths-Hall, London, at any Time on or before the 7th of February Instant, 1728. NB. The Committee of the Goldsmiths Company have thought fit to continue the Time for receiving the above Proposals to Friday the 7th Day of March next, and do hereby give Notice, that any Time after the 7th of February, Conditions for the Disposal may be had upon Application to the Clerk of the said Company.




Pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, The Freehold and Copyhold Estates late of Richard Turner, of the parish of Keymer, in the County of Sussex, lying in the Parishes of Keymer, Ditcheling, West Hoathley, East Blackington, and Clayton, in the said County, are to be sold, intire or in Parcels, before Mark Thurston, Esq; one of the Masters of the said Court, at his Chambers in Symond's-lnn, Chancery-lane; where Particulars thereof may be had.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against William Amsinck, late of Ironmonger-lane, London, Merchant, intend to meet on the 19th Instant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to adjust the Claims made by the several Creditiors of the said Bankrupt who have not as yet fully proved their Debts, when and where the Creditors who have paid their Contribution-Money, but have not as yet fully proved their Debts, are to come prepared to prove the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the Dividend already made of the said Bankrupt's Estate.




THE Creditors of John Barker, of New Buckenham, in the County of Norfolk, Beer Brewer, against whom a Commission of Bankrupt hath been awarded, are desired to meet at the Goat and Kid in the City of Norwich, on Friday the 14th lnstant, to assent or dissent from the Allowance of the said Bankrupt's Certificate.



THE Commission of Bankrupt some Time since awarded against Thomas Arne, late of Thurleigh. in the County of Bedford, Dealer and Chapman, is, by Order of the Right Honourable the Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, superseded : So that all Persons indebted to the said Thomas Arne, or his Estate, or that have any Effects of his in their Hands, are desired to pay and deliver the same to him, or they will be sued.




THIS is to advertise all those, who have any Demands on the Estate of Mr. George Tayler, late of Amsterdam, Merchant. deceased. and have not as yet proved their Debts, that they give in their Claims to Mr. Lowrence Wybrands, Attorney, on the Heere Graght, in Amsterdam, against the First of April next at farthest; after which Time Dividends and Payments are to be made according to Law. as usual in Estates managed under the Benefit of Inventory.

Whereas William Shaw, late of Northfield, in the County of Worcester, Maltster, hath surrendered himself, pursuant to Notice, and been examined: And whereas also Notice was given in the London Gazette for the Creditors of the said William Shaw to chuse Assignees on the First Day of January last, and none appeared: These are therefore to give Notice, that he will attend the Commissioners on the Fifth Day of February Instant, at Twelve of the Clock in the Forenoon, at the House of Nicholas Horneblow, at the Sign of the Crown in Bromesgrove. in the County of Worcester; when and where the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution-Money, and chuse Assignees; and to assent to or dissent from the Allowance of his Certificate.




ALL Persons who are any wise indebted unto Edward Enoch, late of Shoreditch. in the County of Middlesex. Timber-Merchant, against whom a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded and in Force, or have any of the said Bankrupt's Estate or Effects in their Hands, are desired forthwith to pay and deliver the same to Mr John Reynolds; Timber-Merchant, at Broken-Wharf, Thames-Street, London, one of the said Bankrupt's Assignees, or they will be sued. And the Assignees promise to pay �5. per Cent to the Persons discovering any of the Bankrupt's Effects concealed by him.




Pursuant to a Decree of the High Court of Chancery, Notice is hereby given for such of the Workmen concern'd in the Building of Blenheim-Castle, in the County of Oxford, who have any thing due to them in respect thereof (and have not already come in) that they do forthwith come before Anthony Allen, Esq; one of the Masters of the said Court, at his House in Cursitors-Street, Chancery-Lane, and make out their Demands, in order to be paid the same.




Whereas a Commission of Bankrupt is awarded against Christopher Gould, of Wapping, in the County of Middlesex. Ropemaker, and he being declared a Bankrupt; is hereby required to surrender himself to the Commissions on the 6th and13th lnstant, and on the 3d of March next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London; at the second of which Sittings the Creditors are to come prepared to prove their Debts, pay Contribution-Money, and chuse Assignees. And all Persons indebted to the said Bankrupt, or that have any of his Effects, are desired to give Notice to Mr. William Whitaker, Attorney. on Garlick-Hill, London.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Richard Waddy, late of the City of Hereford, Mercer and Apothecary, intend to meet on the 21st of February lnstant, at Three in the Afternoon, at the House of Valentine Gordon, in the City of Hereford, known by the Sign of the Mitre, to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupts Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against George Woodrove, of Shooe-Lane, in the Parish of St. Bridget alias Bride's, London, Button-maker, intend to meet on the 3d Day of March next, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupts Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a renewed Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Robert Creichton, late of Gosport, in the County of Southampton, Brewer, intend to meet on the 21st lnstant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where, the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against John Jermyn, late of Ipswich, in the County of Suffolk, intend to meet on, the 24th lnstant, at Ten in the Forenoon, at the Mitre Tavern in Ipswich aforesaid, to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts, and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Edward Cotton, of Temple-Bar, London, Vintner, intend to meet on the 26th Instant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.




THE Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Stephen Hewes, late of Darking, in the County of Surrey, Mercer, intend to meet on the 19th Instant, at Three in the Afternoon, at Guildhall, London, in order to make a Dividend of the said Bankrupt's Estate; when and where the Creditors who have not already proved their Debts and paid their Contribution-Money, are to come prepared to do the same, or they will be excluded the Benefit of the said Dividend.

Whereas the acting Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Joseph Hyam the Elder and Joseph Hyam the Younger, late of London, Merchants and Copartners, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said Joseph Hyam the Elder hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed, as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 21st Instant.




Whereas the acting Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against Evan Pugh, of Hackney, in the County of Middlesex, Victualler, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said Evan Pugh hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed, as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 21st Instant.

Whereas the acting Commissioners in a Commission of Bankrupt awarded against George Rawlinson, late of Cheshunt, in the County of Hertford, Innkeeper and Taylor, have certified to the Right Honourable Peter Lord King, Baron of Ockham, Lord High Chancellour of Great Britain, that the said George Rawlinson hath in all Things conformed himself according to the Directions of the several Acts of Parliament made concerning Bankrupts; This is to give Notice, that his Certificate will be allowed and confirmed, as the said Acts direct, unless Cause be shewn to the contrary on or before the 21st Instant.
