INFORMATIONS.

MURDER and MALICIOUSLY WOUNDING.

On the 3rd instant, the dead body of a newly-born male Child was found on the seashore in the parish of Worth, near Deal, in a state of nudity; there were marks of violence on the neck, death having been caused by strangulation. At an adjourned inquest held at Deal on the 11th instant, a verdict of 'Wilful murder' was returned against some person or persons unknown. Information to be given to Chief Constable Parker, Borough Police, Deal, Kent - Bow-street, September 13.




FORGERY.

Description of EDWARD BROOK, charged with forgery at Bradford, who absconded on the 9th inst., and is supposed to have gone to some seaport town with the intention of embarking to America or Australia : he is a woolstapler, about 42 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, well built, rather stiff brown hair, whiskers, moustache, and beard turning grey, supposed to have a slight cast in one eye, and is a native of Bradford; generally dressed in dark mixture cloth clothes, �20 reward will be paid to any person giving such information as may lead to his apprehension, on application to Chief Constable Grauhan, Central Police Office, Bradford, Yorkshire. - Bow street, September 13.

Absconded on the 17th ultimo from Parkhurst, Isle of Wight, charged with forgery : Paymaster-Sergeant HENRY HOWES, 103rd Regiment (real name WILLIAM HENRY ANDREWS), 27 years of age, 5 feet 8 1/2 inches high, fair complexion, dark brown hair, grey eyes, one molar tooth on left side and one on right side in a state of decay, and is a smart well-made man; dressed in plain clothes. Information to be given to Superintendent Williamson, Detective Department, Scotland-yard - Bow-street, September 8.




ROBBERY and LARCENY from the PERSON.

Stolen from persons at Meopham Races on the 7th inst., a large old-fashioned gold Watch, capped and jewelled; a gold Geneva Watch, No.21383, white face, dent near bow; also a gold Pin, onyx, with a diamond fly. Information to be given to Superintendent Merritt, Police Station, Chatham, Kent - Bow-street, September 15.

Stolen on the 9th instant, from the person of William Granger, of the Isca Inn, Newport, Monmouthshire, during a disturbance at his house : a gold Watch, maker Jones, London, No.20581, engraved on case 'Presented to Captain William Granger, by the passengers of the ship Queen of India.' �5 reward will be paid upon the apprehension and conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property. Information to be given to Superintendent Huxtable, Borough Police Office, Newport, Monmouthshire, - Bow-street, September 15.




BURGLARY and HOUSE BREAKING.

Further information respecting the robbery at the dwelling-house of A.H. Elger, Esq., on the 29th ultimo : two Razors, with ivory handles, and a pair of paper Scissors, were stolen. Information to be given to Head Constable Gifford, Police Office, Maidstone - Bow-street, September 15.

Description of JOSEPH STEPHENSON, charged at Knaresborough with another man, in custody, with burglariously entering a dwelling house at Ramsgill, in the township of Stonebeck, Down, and stealing therein : four silver tea Spoons, marked 'J.S. - J.;' four silver tea Spoons marked 'J.W.;' six electro-plated tea Spoons; and some wearing Apparel, between 11 p.m. the 8th and 6 a.m. the 9th instant; he is also charged with entering a dwelling-house in the township of Laverton, about 3 p.m. on the 8th instant, and stealing therein : a brown leather Purse, containing 1s. 1d and a quantity of wearing Apparel : he is 22 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, no whiskers, small moustache, a mason, and a native of Staindrop, Durham, dressed in black billycock hat, soft brown, dark cloth coat, light cloth trousers, and wellington boots, with heels that work upon a screw, and turn round at will. Information to be given to Superintendent Haworth Court House, Knaresborough - Bow-street, September 15.

Between 6:30 pm and 8 p.m on the 28th ult, the dwelling-house of Mrs. Davis, Rodwell, was entered, and the following property stolen therein :
A garnet Brooch, in form of Maltese cross.
A garnet and pearl Brooch, with hair.
A Bracelet, with carbuncle drops.
A garnet and pearl Brooch, with hair.
A gold Bracelet, with carbuncle drops.
A gold Maltese Brooch, like two drops.
A gold Ring, garnet and pearl, set like three forget-me-nots.
A gold Ring, with black stones and grey hair, 'C.D.' on back.
A mourning Brooch, with pearl forget-me-nots, "Horsfall" on back.
A cameo and gold Pin.
A carved coral Brooch, set in gold.
A silver Heart to hook on a bracelet, bent.
A gold linked Bracelet.
A strong gold Chain, with three Lockets and Cross attached, one locket with likeness of a lady and gentleman.
A gold Vinaigrette, with 'E.B.' on top.
A pearl Cross, set in gold, small diamonds in it.
A pearl Brooch, with hair and pearls, 'Sarah Ellary' on back.
A painted Brooch, bunch of fruit.
A gilt Chain, with clasp.
A gold Ring, set in pearls, rubies, and emeralds.
Several Paintings of Indian temples on ivory, for brooches.
A round gold Locket, 'J.B.' on back.
A small Indian gold Chain.

Supposed by two men of the following description, who were seen close to the house about 6:30 pm : one about 45 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, light complexion, light hair, no whiskers, a very large tuft of sandy hair on chin; dressed in a new grey overcoat, brown cap, and light trousers : the other about 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, well built, and is very talkative; dressed in dark clothes, �15 reward will be paid for the conviction of the offender or offenders, and recovery of the property. Information to be given to Superintendent Vickery, Guildhall, Weymouth, Dorsetshire - Bow-street, September, 13.

Between 8:30am and 1pm on the 8th instant, the dwelling-house of Christopher Walker, of Low Farm, in the township of Appleton-upon-Wiske, was entered by forcing open a window, during the absence of the family, and the following articles stolen : an old fashioned silver verge Watch, No.4708, Wm. Marshall, London, and a paper in outer case, with the name 'Thompson Cade, Northallerton, 5th March, 1866,' had attached a double-linked steel Chain, with three Cents and a Farthing at the end, �2 in Gold, two Half-crowns, two Florins, and 2s in Silver, and 3d in Copper. A man of the following description, who was seen begging near the house on the morning of the robbery is suspected : from 40 to 45 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, light hair and whiskers round face, short beard; dressed in an old dark vest over a harden slop, black billycock hat with high crown and narrow brim, cord trousers, strong boots, and carried a coat over his arm; had the appearance of a tramping labourer. Information to be given to Superintendent Simpson, North Riding Constabulary, South Stockton-on-Tees, or to Sergeant Kitching, Police Office, Yarm, Yorkshire. - Bow-street, September 13.

During the night of the 5th of morning of the 6th inst,, the dwelling-house of Mr. A.G. Winham, Fore-street, Hertford, was entered by a back window, and the following articles stolen therein : a silver Table Spoon, marked 'R.H.T.'; two silver Tea Spoons, marked 'A.'; a silver Salt Spoon; a Caddy Spoon; a pair of patent leather dress Boots; a blue cloth Overcoat with black velvet collar; a brown cloth Overcoat with velvet collar, marked inside 'A.J.W.', and a small hole near one of the side pockets. �3 reward will be paid on the conviction of the offender or offenders and recovery of the stolen property. Information to be given to Head Constable Jarrett, Police Office, Hertford. - Bow-street, September 11.

Between 1 and 7pm on the 31st ultimo, the dwelling house of George Wilson, of Kiddermore Green, in the parish of Brewood, was broken and entered, and the following property stolen therein : a dark blue ribbed Coat, with pockets on the hips, with a Vest of the same material, both nearly new; a pair of woollen cord Trousers, new; a pair of dark cloth Trousers, intermixed with a light spot, with puce and white braces attached; a black cloth Vest, single-breasted; and an old-fashioned verge Watch, 'Rotherham, Yorkshire,' engraved on the inner case. Supposed by tramps. Information to be given to Sergeant Barrett, Penkridge, or to Police Constable McCusker, Breewood, Staffordshire - Bow-street, September 6.

Stolen by means of burglary, during the night of the 4th instant, at Sevenoaks, Kent, from a laundry : a muslin Petticoat, a ditto, with tucks, a plain ditto, two embroidery ditto; two large Table Cloths, each one about 5 yards long and 1 1/2 yards wide, marked 'K.D.H.;' two linen Sheets, marked 'K.D.H.' in black ink; some white Shirt Collars, white Cravats, white linen Pocket-handkerchiefs, and a Chemise; all wet when stolen. Information to be given to Sergeant Pope, Police Court, Sevenoaks, Kent. - Bow-street, September 6.




HORSE and CATTLE STEALING.

Stolen from a field a Brimscombe, in the parish of Rodborough, on the night of the 6th instant : a dark brown half-bred Mare, 3 years old, 14 hands high, star on forehead, hind feet white, has a small lump on the near left leg, a little above the knee, short tail, has two girth marks behind the shoulders, and is in good working condition; the property of Mr James Hyde. Information to be given to Superintendent Hanbidge, Stroud, Gloucestershire - Bow-street, Sept. 15.

Stolen from Lavenham on the night of the 4th, of morning of the 5th instant, the property of Samuel Howe : a brown bay mare Pony, 12 1/2 hands high, aged, brown legs, black mane and tail, a few white hairs on the back, marked 'T.' on the near side, and near side knee broken. Information to be given to Superintendent Schofield, Police Station, Boxford, West Suffolk - Bow-street, September 15.

Stolen during the night of the 5th instant : a dark brown hackney Mare, aged, about 14 1/2 hands high, scar on both knees, near hind fetlock white, white saddle marks on back, short black mane and tail, and in low condition. Information to be given to Superintendent Holland, Police Station, Wednesbury, or to Police Constable Ellis, Police Station, Pelsall, near Walsall - Bow-street, September 13.

Stolen on the night of the 6th instant, at East Peckham, the property of Henry Welfore : a dark brown cart Gelding, about 15 hands high, black mane, tail, and legs, rather rough about the legs, 10 years old, in good condition. By a young man with a dark coat, had a cart bridle on the horse; the horse was traced into Old Kent-road, London. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, West Malling, Kent - Bow-street, September 11.

Stolen on the 20th ultimo, from Cannock Staffordshire, a brown mare Pony, about 12 hands high, long mane and tail, white mark on forehead, trips with hind feet, and had a red striped Rug on her back. Information to Superintendent Holland, Wednesbury, Staffordshire - Bow-street, September 8.

Stolen from a field at Sytch House Farm, Claverley, Salop, on the 26th ultimo, the property of Mr William Richard Blewitt : ten Ewes, and eight Lambs, marked on left side with round ring and the letter 'B.' in centre, and red mark along the back, one ewe is marked with 'W.D.' as well as 'B.' and all in low condition. Information to be given to Superintendent Ivins, Bridgnorth; or to P.C. (81) Merricks, Claverely, Salop - Bow-street, September 8.

Stolen on the night of the 20th ultimo, from the parish of Starston, Norfolk : a light bay mare Pony, 8 years old 13 1/2 hands high, white star on forehead, white fetlock on near hind leg, and goes lame on off hind leg from a spavin. Information to be given to Superintendent Ward, Police Station, Pulham, Harleston, Norfolk - Bow-street, Sept 6.

Description of a man who gave the name of HARRY ANDREWS, charged with stealing a Horse and Dog Cart on the 1st instant : about 40 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, light eyes, fair complexion, brown hair and whiskers, and slightly bald on left side of head; dressed generally in a new light tweed suit of clothes; of gentlemanly appearance; has a black retriever dog with him. He is accompanied by a woman about 30 years of age, middle height, dark eyes, long flat nose, sallow complexion; and a man (whom they called their groom), about 20 years of age, full face, about 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, small whiskers, and speaks quickly. The horse is grey, 13 hands high, 5 years old, branded with the letter 'B' under the saddle, and long tail; the cart is new, and painted dark green (picked out with light green), the property of Mr. G.D. King, of Freemantle, near Southampton. They took an empty house at Freemantle, had it furnished by different tradesmen, then sold and pawned the goods, and absconded. Information to be given to Superintendent Stannard, Hants Constabulary Station, Bitterne, who holds a warrant for the apprehension of Andrews. - Bow-street, September 6.




LARCENY and EMBEZZLEMENT.

Stolen on the 11th instant from a bedroom at Newington, Kent, the property of Richard Goodwin : an old fashioned silver verge Watch, case very much worn, the glass cracked from figures 11 to 6, and a short steel Guard attached. By a lodger, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, dark complexion, hair, and whiskers; dressed in cord trousers, white slop, blue guernsey, blue check shirt, and billycock hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Mayne, Police Court, Sittingbourne, Kent - Bow-street, September 15.

Absconded from the borough of Shrewsbury, on the 28th ultimo, charged on a warrant with stealing an American Clock : THOMAS DAVIES, by trade a gasfitter or tinman, 21 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, and small dark moustache; dressed in blue pilot jacket, velvet collar, white slop, cord or moleskin trousers, hard hat and red neckerchief. Information to be given to Head Constable Davies, Shrewsbury, Salop - Bow-street, September 15.

Description of JOHN PERRY, alias WITHINGTON, alias WEATE, charged with felony, at Wolverhampton : he is 30 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, light hair, blue eyes, bald, prominent forehead, scar on right eyebrow, fresh complexion, a striker or brewer by trade. Information to be given at the Chief Constable's Office, Wolverhampton - Bow-street, September 15.

Description of two deserters from the 23rd Regiment, stationed at Hubberstone Fort, and who are charged with stealing eight �10 Notes; six �5 Notes; �4 in Gold; �7 in Silver; a suit of Clothes, of heather mixture; a black, cutaway Coat; a pair of Trousers, shepherd's plaid; and a black felt Hat, the property of Captain Hadden, 23rd Regiment : one 19 years of age, 5 feet 1 1/2 inch high, fresh complexion, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, no beard, stout figure, a native of Plymouth; dressed in black cutaway coat, shepherd's plaid trousers, black felt hat, and a new pair of lace-up boots; the other 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 1/2 inches high, fresh complexion, blue eyes, brown hair, not beard, stout figure, a native of North Walton, Hants; supposed dressed in the stolen suit of heather mixture - Information to be given to Chief Constable Stokes, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire - Bow-street, Sept 13.

Description of a man who was sent to the Brighton Railway Terminus on the evening of the 11th instant, for some luggage, and obtained a leather Hat Box, and a black hand bag, containing �25 in �5 Bank of England Notes, an Oriental Bank Cheque-book, some Brushes, a Cigar-case, and Letters and Papers, with which he has absconded : he is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fair complexion, and light hair, whiskers, and moustache; dressed in dark clothes. Information to be given to Chief Constable White, Brighton, Sussex - Bow-street, September 13.

Absconded on the 5th instant, charged with embezzling �10, the property of his master : a man, 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, sallow complexion, freckled, brown hair, hazel eyes; dressed in a drab coat, light trousers and vest, black wideawake hat - Metropolitan Police, K. Division, September 13.

Absconded on the 4th instant, from 33 Woodland-street, Dalston, charged with embezzling �2, the money of his master; a man 26 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, dark hair and complexion; dressed in a brown mixture coat, cord trousers, and black wideawake hat - Metropolitan Police, N Division, September 13.

Absconded from the city of London, charged on a warrant with embezzling �4. 14s. 9d., the monies of his employer : EBENEZER EDWARDS, a clerk, 22 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, dark hair, small dark whiskers, no moustache; dressed respectably in dark clothes and billycock hat; a native of Coedpoerth, near Wrexham, Denbighshire. Information to be given to Inspector Bailey, City of London Police, Detective Department, No.26, Old Jewry, E.C. - Bow-street, September 13.

Stolen from a cabin at Dawley, on the 10th instant : a moleskin sleeved Waistcoat, single-breasted, large white pearl buttons, two outside pockets, one inside breast pocket, brown jean sleeves, moleskin back of a lighter material than the fronts, the property of Patrick Curdley. By a man, about 50 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, small grey whiskers; dressed in a long black frock coat, dark trousers, and high crowned hat; travels about hawking paper and singing. Information to be given to Deputy Chief Constable Richardson, Wellington, or to Sergeant Wyley, Madeley, Salop - Bow-street, September 13.

Stolen on the 6th instant from a dwelling-house in Crocket's-lane, Smethwick : a pair of men's dark plaid cloth Trousers and a dark grey woollen Shirt. By a man who had been lodging at the house : WILLIAM CHRISTOPHER, an underhand puddler, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fair complexion, light brown hair, no whiskers; dressed in an old brown cloth sac coat, Stourbridge Union trousers (or may be wearing the stolen pair), and black velvet cap. Information to be given to Inspector Ordish, Police Office, Smethwick, near Birmingham, or at any Police Station in the county of Stafford - Bow-street, September 13.

Stolen from a harness-maker's shop at Leybourne, on the morning of the 8th instant, the property of John Brooks : a double-rein riding Bridle, with pelham Bit, and six catgut gig Whips, with brown leather handles. Supposed by three men about 22 to 24 years of age. Information to be given to Superintendent Hulse, West Malling, Kent - Bow-street, September 11.

Description of THOMAS WILSON, charged with stealing a pair of Trousers and a pair of Boots at Gainsborough, on the 4th instant (both recovered); about 34 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 high, ruddy complexion, ginger whiskers and moustache; dressed in a cheesecutter cap, black monkey jacket, cord trousers, militia boots, supposed to belong to the R.N.L. Militia; is a native of Lincoln, and a bricklayer's labourer. Information to be given to Superintendent Jarvis, Police Station, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, who holds a warrant for his apprehension - Bow-street, September 11.

Absconded from Basingstoke, charged on a warrant with stealing (whilst being bailee), a new Carpet and Hearth Rug : N. AUSTIN, about 35 years of age, about 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, sandy whiskers, meeting under the chin, and has an impediment in his speech; dressed in dark clothes, and high hat; has a large Newfoundland dog. A second man is in company with him, about 20 years of age, no whiskers, and dressed in light clothes; he appears to be a son of the above, but passes as a servant; and a woman, from 36 to 40 years of age, rather sallow complexion, and very peculiar eyes; appears to be of good address, and passes as Austin's wife. Their habit seems to be to take furnished apartments, or a nice villa, stating they are well to do, and have lots of Goods, &c. Took a ticket from Basingstoke to Waterloo, with luggage, on the night of the 4th instant, and is supposed to be known in London. Information to be given to Superintendent Hibberd, Basingstoke, Hants - Bow-street, September 11.

Absconded on the 6th instant, from the Talbot Hotel, Cleobury Mortimer, charged upon a warrant with embezzling several sums of Money, amounting to about �1, belonging to his master : EDWIN, alias RICHARD BIRCH, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, fresh complexion, clean shaved, light brown hair (cut short), and about 9 stone weight; a native of Stourport, Worcestershire; dressed in a suit of black cloth, much worn, the coat rounded off in front, and round soft black felt hat. He gave the name of Richard Birch to his master, his right name being Edwin Birch. Information to be given to Superintendent Ivins, County Police Station, Bridgnorth, or to Sergeant Collis, Police Station, Cleobury Mortimer, Salop - Bow-street, Sept. 11.

Description of GEORGE EDWARDS, charged with stealing, on the 14th ultimo at Ticknall, a gold Watch and Guard (recovered) : he is about 26 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, fair complexion, hazel eyes, dark brown hair; dressed, when last seen in pepper and salt coloured cloth trousers (patched on knees) and coat, dark cloth vest, black billycock hat, and strong lace-up boots; he is a labourer and a native of Etwall, near Derby. Information to be given to Superintendent Carline, Derbyshire Constabulary, Wooden Box, near Burton on Trent, or to Detective Inspector Davis, Litchurch, near Derby, who holds a warrant for his apprehension - Bow-street, September 11.

Stolen on the 7th instant, from a blacksmiths shop, at Leebotwood, a moleskin Jacket, man's size, two outside pockets in skirts, hole burnt in the lining of one, a large inside pocket in skirt, a left inside breast pocket, drab buttons, and a light pocket Handkerchief, the property of John Wilding blacksmith, Leebotwood. By a man about 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, black whiskers and moustache; dressed in a dark cord jacket, cord trousers, and black bowler hat. Information to be given to Superintendent Caswell, County Office, Shrewsbury - Bow-street, September 11.

Further information respecting FRANCIS WILLIAM WEBSTER, charged with embezzlement, and advertised in the Police Gazette of the 31st July last. A reward of �2 will be paid to any person who will apprehend or give information leading to his apprehension, on application to Inspector Tomlinson, Police Office, Sedgley - Bow-street, September 8.

Stolen from Ashford, Kent, on the 23rd of July last : a hand Cart, painted green, on a pair of carriage wheels, has a piece of old tire for the handle to rest on. By a man called HARRY COCKEY, about 30 years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, little or no whiskers, Roman nose, and has a cast in one eye; dressed in a holland coat, old shoes, cut up the fronts, and white apron; is a tine worker, and collects rags, &c. Information to be given to Superintendent Noakes, Kent Constabulary, Ashford, who holds a warrant for his apprehension - Bow-street, September 8.

Description of WILLIAM CALVERT, charged under a warrant with embezzling several sums of money belonging to the Odd Fellows Society, in Ashford, Kent, in the month of February last : he is a coach builder, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, very light hair, small sandy moustache, very few light whiskers on sides of face, has a feminine or alto voice, and is fond of singing. He absconded from Ashford in May last, and has since worked at his trade in several shops in London. Information to be given to Superintendent Noakes, Kent Constabulary, Ashford - Bow-street, September 8.

Stolen from a leather bag in a railway carriage at Knottingley, Yorkshire, between 6 and 7 p.m. on the 4th instant : a Parcel, containing a Pass Book, with red back, and owner's name stamped on several of the pages; an ivory Card Case, silver mounted, engraved 'H.S.;' six German silver Dessert Spoons, engraved 'B.;' and three ivory Dog Whistles; the property of John Taylor, of Pontefract, silversmith. By a thin sallow man, about 30 years of age, and dressed in dark clothes, who went forward in the train to Doncaster. Information to be given to Superintendent Hall, West Riding Constabulary, Pontefract - Bow-street, September 8.

Description of FREDERICK LAIT and ANN BATESON, charged with stealing a silver Watch (since recovered), from a dwelling-house in the borough of Louth, on the 24th ultimo.
Frederick Lait is 25 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, cut on forehead; dressed in a blue pilot coat, dark trousers, strong lace-up boots, and cheesecutter cap; he is a coachbuilder by trade, and a licence-holder, No.5302, was convicted of a felony at Hull, June 29th, 1865, and sentenced to 7 years penal servitude.
Ann Bateson is 5 feet high, dark brown hair, lame of the left leg, and walks with a crutch; dressed in light print dress, black velvet jacket, and grey duckskin hat.
They are travelling together as man and wife, and it is supposed that Lait will seek employment as some ironworks. Information to be given to Head Constable Roberts, Town Hall, Louth, Lincolnshire - Bow-street, September 8.




FELONIES.

Description of an Irishman charged with a criminal offence, on the night of the 9th instant, at Middlesbrough : he is from 25 to 30 years of age, and about 6 feet high; dressed in white moleskin trousers, dark coat, and either a cap or body hat. Information to be given to Chief Constable Saggerson, Borough Police Station, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire - Bow-street, September 13.




FRAUDS AND AGGRAVATED MISDEMEANOURS.

Description of THOMAS HENRY CHARLES SEYMOUR, alias FRANCIS CHARLES HENRY SEYMOUR WILSON, of No.2, Prince's-place, Kennington-cross, Lambeth, who is remanded at the Ramsgate Police Court until the 19th instant, charged with obtaining �5 under false pretences, on the 4th instant, at Ramsgate : 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 1/2 inches high, fair complexion, grey eyes, dark brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, which appear to have been very recently shaved off, walks very erect, and it twice branded with the letter 'D;' dressed in a black cloth lounging coat, trimmed with silk braid, dark ribbed cloth vest and trousers to match, blue necktie, black and white woollen shirt, spring-side boots, and deerstalker hat; states that he has served in the 24th Foot. Description of a man giving the name and address of WILLIAM JOHNSON, labourer, of Leeds, Yorkshire, supposed fictitious, who stands committed to take his trial at the next sessions, to be holden at Maidstone, for stealing a Watch from the person of a gentleman at Meopham Races on the 7th instant : he is 24 years of age, about 5 feet 7 ins high, very broad face, light moustache, and few whiskers round chin; dressed in old brown coat and vest, dark cord trousers, black and white check scarf, lace-up boots, and black felt hat. Description of a tramping labourer who was committed to Northallerton Gaol for one month for having been found in a bedroom on the night of the 9th instant : he gave the name of MICHAEL CURRY, 30 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, fresh complexion, dark hair and whiskers, pockmarked, of military appearance, and a native of Edinburgh.
Also of WILLIAM GREGORY, committed to gaol for eight months for fowl stealing : 39 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, hazel eyes, dark brown hair, sallow complexion, is a puddler, and a native of Bilston, Staffordshire.

He is supposed to have committed offences elsewhere, and to have been previously convicted.

Description of Deserters, Stragglers, and Men Discharged from Her Majesty's Sea Service.
Although �3 reward is offered for the apprehension of Deserters at the time, �2 is only payable at the expiration of 3 months, and �1 only at the expiration of 6 months from the date of desertion, and after the expiration of a complete year, no reward will be paid, except under special circumstances.
No reward will be given in those cases if apprehended within the precincts of a port where a regular Police is organized, but all reasonable expenses will be paid.
