Some Selected Reports from The Patriot

Tuesday Evening, May 11, 1819.

Letters have arrived from M'Gregor's army so recent as to the 1st of March. The accounts are very favourable to the patriotic cause. He left a competent force under Colonel O'Hara, to garrison Santa Martha, and with the addition of 400 native troops, he marched into the interior of the country, where no enemy was expected. The Militia of the district has joined him.
It is said that M'Gregor intends to press forward to Mexico, if he finds the natives ready to support him.

A letter from Jacquemel (Hayti), dated Jan.17, states the horrible fact, that the whole of the crews of two American vessels, which had been captured by the pirates who have so long infested that coast, were instantly murdered by their savage captors.
