To-morrow evening will arrive in this city, Doctor and Professor Hilmer, Physician and Counsellor to his Prussian Majesty, who had, amongst other great Cures, restored many thousand blind persons to their sight in a few minutes, and has gained the greatest reputation by curing the disorders of the Eyes over all Europe. His time will not allow him to stay any longer than four days. He cares the first day, the poor gratis. He will lodge at the Three Lions.

At Dorchester Assize, which ended on Monday last, Elizabeth Burt, for stealing wearing apparel from Deborah Foy, was convicted and ordered for transportation; Thomas Kendal, for stealing two silver spoons, the property of Edward Weld, Esq; and four men for assembling in a riotous manner, and stealing a quantity of cheese and bacon from the waggons of Edward Gore and George Thick, at Gillingham, were burnt on the hand; William Bailey, for suspicion of murdering his wife, and Jane Bishop, for killing Bishop Bowsey, and Robert Hardy, for suspicion of murdering James Churchill, were all acquitted.
It is now settled, that the right of election for a member for the Borough of Bridgewater, lies in the inhabitants, who pay scot and lot.
We hear that Henry Dawkins, and ---- Marsh, Esqrs intend offering themselves candidates for the borough of Chippenham, on the next vacancy, which cannot, it is feared, be far different, as Sir Thomas Fludyer lies dangerously ill.
A letter from Bath mentions, that the contest for Master of Ceremonies, lies chiefly between M----r B----n and Mr Charles Jones, a Somersetshire Gentleman, both of whom have so many friends, that it is difficult to say which will be chosen.
The paragraph on the death of the Rev.Mr. Colston, of Coker, Somerset, in our Journal of the 27th ult was without foundation, that Gentleman being alive and in good health.
William Buy , convicted at out last assize of robbing his master, the Rev. Mr. Willes, of Christian Malford, we hear, will certainly be executed at Fisherton gallows on Tuesday next.
