Saturday, April 15, 1757.





Salisbury, April 11. On Tuesday William Simmonds was committed to our County Gaol, by the Mayor of Marlborough, for breaking open the Shop of Andrew Milsom, of that Borough, in the Night-Time, and stealing divers Good.
On Wednesday Edward Dubber was committed to the said Gaol by Mr. Justice Batson, for stealing a Ewe Sheep, the Property of Lord Bruce.

On Thursday Thomas Dubber was committed to the said Gaol, for being concerned with John Pearce and Samuel Jones in stealing a Weather Sheep, the Property of Roger Spanswick, of Chilton Foliot. And

On Friday John Bazor was also committed to the Gaol aforesaid, by Edward Young, Esq; for stealing a black Mare, the Property of Hannah White, of Castle Combe.
And Yesterday was brought to the said Gaol, committed by R. Willoughby, Esq; Richard Welch, of Meer, for assaulting John Bealing, of Gillingham in the County of Dorset, last Thursday Night, between Eleven and Twelve o'Clock, in a Meadow at Stilton [?] in this County, and there robbing him of eight Guineas and eight thirty-six Shilling Pieces in Gold and Half a Crown in Silver.
