Shocking Accident

This afternoon a man named Wm. Massey, in the employ of Mr.W.Clode, of the New Inn, in this town, received a kick in his forehead from a horse belonging to Mr.Shirley , of Staines, that had been put up there. The unfortunate man was conveyed into the house, and medical assistance was obtained, when it was discovered that the forehead was so seriously fractured that but little hopes are entertained of his recovery.

On Monday last, as Messrs. Henry and Edward Smith, farmers of Waltham, were returning home in a gig from Hartley Row through Wokingham, the horse took fright, and setting off at full speed, ran the gig with great violence against the corner of a house in Wokingham, throwing the Messrs. Smith out, and breaking the vehicle to pieces. Fortunately they escaped with but trifling injury.
