Some Selected Reports from The Windsor and Eton Express
10th May 1834
On the night of Saturday, between ten and eleven o'clock, as a waggoner belonging to Mr. Burnet, of Henley, was coming
from London, when between the turnpike and White Hart, Colnbrook, a man came suddenly behind him and filled his
mouth with mud, and after plundering him of six or seven pounds, threw him into the ditch on the side of the road. He
was taken out by some labouring men not much hurt. A pursuit was immediately made for the thief but in vain; hopes are,
however entertained that he will soon be discovered.
