Windsor Infants School
The anniversary meeting of the friends and supporters of this institution, which was fixed for Wednesday last, has been postponed in consequence of the death of his late Majesty.
The new Wesleyan Chapel in Peascod-street, Windsor, was opened on Thursday, when two sermons were preached upon, and liberal collections were made.
Shocking Accident
On this day week a shocking accident happened to a little girl, about six years of age, the daughter of Mr. B.Smith, of Englefield Green. The child was coming down stairs with a bason
in her hand, when she fell down, broke the bason, and her throat was lacerated by a piece of it in so shocking a manner that she died in a short time.
On Saturday night, or early on Sunday morning, some person or persons broke into the duck-house of Mr. Friend, Old Windsor, and stole three ducks and a drake. A reward has been offered for the apprehension of the offenders by the Windsor Association.
Windsor Police
On Monday two privates in the Grenadier Guards were fully committed for trial at the Sessions, named William Willis and James Bruin; the former for a violent and unprovoked assault on a
married woman named Jane Hughes in Peascod-street, on the night of Tuesday week, and also for assaulting a police constable, Sexton, and the latter also for an assault on the same constable.
