29th March 1834



A meeting of the Dissenters took place in the chapel, in William-street, Windsor, on Monday last, for the purpose of petitioning Parliament to relieve them of their alleged grievances. Several resolutions were passed, and the petition left for signature.

At the Cucumber Show, at Mr. Wansell's the Three Tuns, Eton, on Tuesday last, the first prize was awarded to Mr. Dash, of the Star and Garter Inn, Windsor; the second to Mr. Weedon, Hillingdon; third to Mr. Purday, Salt-hill; and the fourth to Mr. Lovegrove, of Windsor. The Maiden prize was won by Mr. Skelton, of Eton. After the show the company dined together at the above inn.

The fat hog which was shot for at a pigeon-shooting match at Bracknall, a short time since, has been killed this week by Mr. Hyde, Bacon-factor, of Thames-street, and weighs the astonishing weight of twenty-nine score and ten pounds.

Nine sheep and ten lambs were lost from a field of Mr. Brigenshaw's at Taplow, on Wednesday night last, supposed to have been stolen.
