Uxbridge, September 1

The first marriage ceremony , which has taken place since the Independent Chapel at Uxbridge has been so duly authorised by Act of Parliament, was solemnized on Tuesday last, the 28th August, by the Rev.T.G.Stamper, and before the Superintendent and Deputy-Registrars of the District, by license. It was that of Mr.Wm.Skedgell, of Reading, grocer, to Jane Moore, lately Mistress of the School of Industry, at Uxbridge.

The waggoner who was killed last week, coming down the Hillingdon hill by the Oxford van, was one of five brothers, three of whom have met an untimely death in a similar manner. The other two are still living.

An inquest was held by T.Stirling, Esq., Coroner for Middlesex
