10th May 1834

On Wednesday last the Rev.Mr.Knyvett of Westminster was elected on of the Minor Canons of St.George's Chapel, Windsor, in the room of the Rev.Mr.Lewis, deceased. The disposal of the living of Ruislip, vacant also by the death of the above gentleman, is postponed.

The Churchwardens, Overseers, and other inhabitants of the parish of Clewer perambulated the parish boundaries on Thursday last. They afterwards partook of luncheon at Captain Harcourt's, who also liberally gave away to a number of poor persons who joined in the procession a quantity of bread and meat and beer.

We have been highly gratified this week by a sight of the magnificent tulip bed of Messrs.Brown, of Slough; the bulbs amounting to a thousand are now in full in number, bloom, but as the evening draws near they are not seen to so great advantage, we therefore advise those persons who intend paying Messrs.B a visit to do so in the early part of the day. The following are the names of a few of the most choice and valuable sorts among the collection, viz: Thalia, Brulante Eclatante, Ophelia, Salavata Rosa, Fabius, Polyphemus, Fair Rosamond, La Sans Pariel, and Pompe Funabre.
