James Albert Walters b. 18 Jan 1848 d. 11 Nov 1927

James was one of the oldest and most widely known residents of Fairchance, Fayette, PA. He served on the Fairchance Borough Council and was in the lumber and contracting business. He was one of the contractors who built the Fairchance and Smithfield Traction Line and served as a director of that Company. He married 24 Nov 1870 in Fairchance, Fayette, PA Mary Margaret Wilson b. 27 Dec 1853 in Fairchance, Fayette, PA d. 20 Oct 1905 in Fairchance, Fayette, PA. They had eleven children:

Ethel Birda Walters b. 14 Nov 1891 d. 17 Feb 1985

Ethel belonged to the Methodist Episcopal Church in Fairchance for over 70 years. She was a Sunday school teacher and president of Womens Society of Christian Service. She married Elmer Elard Cooley b. 20 Nov 1890 in Fairchance, Fayette, PA d. 6 Mar 1971 in McKeesport, Allegheny, PA. They had nine children:

Wilbur worked at the Clairton Plant of USS for over 40 years and retired as Superintendent of the By Products Department. He married 9 July 1935 in Cumberland, Allegany, MD Marguerite Christine Backstrom b. 13 May 1917 in McKees Rocks, Allegheny, PA d. 22 Oct 2000 South Park Twp., Allegheny Co., PA. They had two children:

2. Richard Arthur b. (living) m. Rita Jean Martin.
