Database Records - Number of records I have in the PAF database used to build the descendant charts available. Descendant Charts are generated by Personal Ancestrial File 4.0, usually beginning with the earliest known ancestor of that line and includes all known descendants of that ancestor.

Left Sidebar - This website's table of contents / primary directory for getting around to those pages not listed in the descendant charts.

Surnames Updated - Listing of the Surname Descendant Charts and the day of the last time I updated them. Those listed on the home page should be current. Except for Hughes and Pickett, the surnames are listed in alphabetical order.

Direct Ancestry - The surnames listed under the heading Hughes-Pickett Direct Ancestry and Descendants are the family groups from which I directly descend. I began with my parents and grandparents families and progressively have added my other known lines chronologically. These name indexes contain the name charts for that particular surname. Remember some of these bigger families are quite large and many take several minutes for them to load on your computer.

Allied Families - These surnames consist of the cousins related to my direct ancestry by either blood and/or marriage. In a few cases I have added families who are related to my cousins when these families are part of the immediate historical context of my families. Allied families and their allied families often are an integral part of our family lives and have provided enormous insight to understanding and finding additional clues about our families.

Earliest Ancestors - Here I have listed the earliest ancestor from selected families. These links will take you to this first ancestor and the first page of the descendant chart for that family group. In some cases I have listed links to important or famous ancestor found in the middle of the descendant charts.

Welcome - This page welcomes vistors to this website and gives an overview of the mission and purpose of this website. It also gives a little of my personal background and my attitude toward families and family history.

News - Provides occasional news and information about this website. If I going to announce changes or something new this is where you find it.

Chronology - Sometimes I do a time line on family networks to get my bearings on where they were and how families overlapped as they made their way from Europe to American and across the American frontier.

Multimedia - Thanks to some generous contributors and my own collecting I have an assortment of pictures and documents I can share with you.

Veterans - Many of our ancestors were veterans in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, WWI and WWII. I have began to list these here.

Ravenden Springs History - I have been collecting tidbit of Ravenden Springs Area history and when I get some of it together I'll be posting it here.

Our Cemetaries - I have plans to list selected family cemetary information.

Resume - This is where you'll find a copy of my resume. If you are interested in my academic or professional background you might want to take a look.

Web Resources - There are a lot of terrific resource out there on the web. Here is my list of some of the best.

Credits - I try to list those who have helped me with my research and this website. Without them my efforts would be much more difficult if not impossible. Thank you everyone!

Family Networks - term I use often to describe two or more families that have interacted through marriage, blood and friendship living in common area for lengthy periods of time and often make up large parts of a common community.

Theories and Sources - Notice sometimes where a lot of common facts surrounding an individual or family group, I link families together based on theory (not verified direct records) for research purposes and to fill gaps in the historical record. When new information surfaces, I try to make the proper corrections. Early history is difficult at best and this seems like the best solution currently for getting at our earliest family histories. When I have solid evidence like census, land, pension, will or marriage records I try to list them. I also collect much of my information from web sources so I warn you some of the stuff I've listed should be carefully weighted before engraving in stone. I do make an effort to weed out some of most outrageous and sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm way off. So be forewarned.
