      Elizabeth Ann Edmiston [E1b4e1], daughter of Mary Jane East and Eli F Edmiston, was born at Clifton, TN in August 1844. She married Abraham Young Montague near Clifton on 31 October 1867. He was born in Wayne Co on 28 January 1840, son of Thomas Montague and Diana Carr. Abe's sister was Charlotte F Montague who married John Harston East, Elizabeth's first cousin. Abe left home in his teen years to work as a grocery clerk in Elizabeth's father's store at Clifton, and lived there with the Edmiston family. He married the boss' daughter. When the Civil War began, Abe enlisted on the Confederate side in 1861 and was wounded. By 1870 Abe was the constable in Waynesboro. He died 22 September 1875 at Clifton or Waynesboro. Afterwards, Lizzie lived for a few years at Clifton, but about 1900 she moved to Memphis to be near her only living child, Hester. She lived with Hester in 1910 and into the 1930S. Lizzie died at Memphis in February 1936 and was buried there in Forest Hill Cemetery on the 11th of that month. She and Abe had four children, with just one alive in 1910-

He and Bonnie lived just a block from his parents on Campbell St in 1920. He lived most of his life in IN, died there 11 December 1964 of cancer, and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery with Bonnie. Mozelle lived with her parents until her step father died, then moved to another home with her widowed mother. Afgter her mother died, Moselle lived with her brother Herbert at Evansville. Earl died 2 March 1953 at San Antonio, TX. His obituary at Evansville, IN said that his wife was Opal. If so, he must have had a second wife after Pearl. The draft card also gave the 17 August 1886 birth date at Provo, UT, said that Leroy had a 12 year old child, and said that Leroy worked for the James Stewart Construction Company at Fort Douglas. Logan had married Etolia Isabelle Jones at Provo on 6 April 1915. She was born in 1888 in MO. This was her second marriage, and she had a daughter born in 1905, who would have been age 12 in 1917, but by 1920 she and Logan had no children themselves. Logan was a bank clerk in 1920. His middle name was from his paternal grandmother's family name. Les never knew his original father; the only father he has known was his step-father Irving A Kessler, and the Kessler name has been Les' legal name all his life. Les grew up at Tyronza, but made a career of the U.S. Navy; he joined at age 17 in 1930 in the Long Beach, CA area. He married Mildred Mae Collins at Yuma, AZ in 1930 or 1931. They divorced and both then remarried, he to Elouise Smith and Mildred to _____ Jettie. Les and Elouise lived their retired years at Arcadia, CA; he died on 6 May 1984 at Arcadia of cancer, and was cremated. Les and Mildred had a son-
