William O'Butler Eddleman a man of mystery. For several years that my Uncle James A. Eddleman and I have been looking into our family history we have assumed that William O'Butler Eddleman was our missing great uncle Tink. Several years ago my Uncle contacted several Eddleman researchers in central and north Texas. One of the researchers he contacted was Ima Lee Fair granddaughter of William O'Butler Eddleman. She provided my Uncle and I a typed document with the descendant tree of William O'Butler Eddleman born in 1850 in Mississippi. According to her his nickname was Tink, he was supposed to have had brothers named David and James. He died in Lingleville, Erath county Texas in 1933. There are several things that confirm that he was not the brother of my great-grandfather, I have listed these points below.

1.) My great-great-grandfather did migrate through Mississippi and did apparently have one child born in Mississippi, that child was my great-grandfather David Henry Eddleman who was born in 1845. This was concluded by the fact that he reported on his Confederate army enlistment that he was a native of Mississippi. In a family history left by his brother Asberry F. Eddleman stated that his mother had given birth to 7 children in Georgia, one child in Mississippi and two children in Arkansas, before her death on December 18, 1852.

2. He was born in Kosciuko Mississippi in 1850. By 1850 my great-great-grandfather was living in Arkansas.

I have come to the conclusion that William O'Butler Eddleman is not the brother of my great-grandfather I believe that he is in fact unrelated to my line or the descendant of one of my great-great-grandfather David Eddleman born in 1810 in Lincolnton county in N.C. brothers. For this reason I am moving his family information to this page.
