This page has had little activity in the past year so I am going to concentrate on the Frey's/Fry's in Frederick and Shenandoah Counties, VA to see if I can see where we are in identiying those Frey'/Fry's living there 1810 and before. Just click on Virginia below. I believe we will find they migrated from PA. Should you have information on any of these Frey's/Fry's please email what you have and I'll post it.

THIS PAGE WAS originally ESTABLISHED AS A SITE TO DETERMINE THE FRY'S/FREY'S/FRYE'S IN SUMNER AND ROBERTSON COUNTIES, TN IN 1812 through 1850 AND TO ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY their RELATIONSHIPS. I'm particularly interested in identifying BARNET/BERNARD FRY/FREY, my GGGRANDFATHER. He is identified in the Missouri 1850 census where it shows all of his children were born in Robertson County, TN. A land purchase dated 1840 showed he lived in Sumner County and purchased the land located in Robertson County near Mitchellsville. He is not shown on any census data that I've seen.

TIME HAS SHOWN A NEED TO EXPAND THE PAGE TO INCLUDE, IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER, KENTUCKY, MARYLAND, NORTH CAROLINA, PENNSYLVANIA, TENNESSEE, AND VIRGINIA. I am also adding the Frey's/Fry's/Frye's presented in Strassburgers Pennsylvania German Pioneers Ship lists to Philadelphia from 1727 to 1808. Ive included their given names and their date of arrival in Philadelphia. They typically, but not always, came down the Rhine River to Rotterdam to Isle of White or Cowes England to Phildelphia. IT SEEMS THAT MOST IMMIGRANTS STARTED IN PA WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT AT LEAST SOME OF THE MORAVIAN FREY'S STARTED BRIEFLY IN GEORGIA.

There is a significant interest regarding the Heirich Frey that came to PA in 1680. He was given land by the indians in what was a little later named Germantown. William Penn then later recognized the indian gift and granted this land to Heinrich. I've set up a separate page to all of the Heinrich Frey related URL's and a link is provided, between the red lines, below to this page.

THE DATA in these pages, other than that derived from the census's, is in GENERAL, NOT SUPPORTED WITH SOURCES.

I'll maintain this page in the future as a reference source for other researchers and add other states when the need is indicated. South CArolina is under consideration

THIS PAGE CONTAINS LINKS TO THE SEVERAL STATES listed above. I've added, on 1/09/02, all OF THE CENSUS DATA THAT I HAVE TO ALL OF THE NEW STATES and I'VE MOVED SOME OF THE DATA ORIGINALLY UNDER TENNESSEE TO their APPROPRIATE STATES. ALL PREVIOUS DATA, EXCEPT FOR A LITTLE DATA MOVED TO THE APPROPRIATE STATE, IS PRESENTED UNDER THE TENNESSEE LINK. HOWEVER, AS DATA IS COLLECTED, bY me OR BY OTHER GENEROUS PROVIDERS, NEW DATA WILL BE ADDED. MAYBE WE FREY/FRY/Frye DESCENDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY OUR ROOTS THROUGH THIS COOPERATIVE EFFORT.

SUGGESTIONS ON IMPROVING THIS SITE WILL BE GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED
