CASEY Y2K REUNION - CONFERENCE
CASEY FAMILY ASSOCIATION REUNION REVIEW

The Y2K, June 17 & 18, 2000 Casey Family Association Reunion in Springfield, MO was wonderful, with Casey Cousins from all over the United States in attendance.

The Saturday Reunion/Conference was held at the Clarion Hotel where the majority of the cousins attending spent Friday and Saturday nights. The dining hall was beautiful with the many round tables dressed in Irish green. From my vantage point at the head table, it was a real thrill to look out over the room filled with so many dear Casey cousins!

We gathered again in the late evening for dinner at a near by restaurant where we enjoyed a story telling time after our meal.

Early Sunday morning two bus loads of Casey cousins drove to Branson, Missouri, where we were greeted by the 'Homestead' musicians playing 'Company's Coming' as we entered the Silver Dollar City park.

Following a 7:30 A. M. worship service in the gazebo we visited our Levi Casey/McHaffie log cabin which is located just inside the entrance of the park. The hospitality of the park management was superb!

We enjoyed a bountiful breakfast together in the Old Mine restaurant inside the park, then re-boarded the buses for a tour of Taney County, Missouri. We visited Casey family home sites including the original homestead where the Levi Cabin was built in 1848 and cemeteries where Casey family members are buried. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at the Kissie Mills cemetery stop.

Late in the afternoon we returned to the Clarion Hotel, Springfield, MO. Most of the cousins departed for home but several of us stayed over Sunday night. Parting is such sweet sorrow! We always know that some dear faces will be missing at the next gathering of the family.

The June, 2002 Casey Family Association Reunion and Conference will be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

All Casey cousins and friends are welcome to join us. Dates and location will be announced later.
