The towns named are those where a post office was in operation. The numbers represent how many acres were available in various township/range sections, at $1.25 an acre.
This is the only map I have seen that represents the three railroad lines that proposed to contract
and lay rail. When you notice the towns that the tracks would have passed through,
you wonder what economic impact would have taken place, and what the resulting populations would have been...then and now...
