Donnie Dean Faddis of Marble Falls, AR died Thursday March 8, 2001 at NARMC in Harrison, AR. He was born August 25, 1939 at Compton, AR , the son of Cecil and Gladys Bell Sisco Faddis. He was precede in death by his father, Cecil Faddis in 1977 and his mother, Gladys Bell Sisco Faddis in 1985. Mr. Faddis was a farmer and a member of the Valley Springs Full Gospel Church. He was a life long resident of Newton County, AR.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Smothers Faddis of the home, 1 daughter, Kelly D.. Faddis of the home, 2 sisters Wanda Henderson of Fordyce, MO and Shirley Foster of Elkins, AR. One brother, Russell Faddis of Harrison.

Services were March 12, 2001 at Valley Springs Full Gospel Church at 2:00 PM under the direction of Christeson Funeral Home of Harrison. Burial was in Plumlee Cemetery and the Minister was Bro. Ricky Stone

Pallbearers were David Bing, Jamye James, Lewis Falconburg, Jim Elmore, Charley Bing and Roger Dolmage.

Joe Frank Faddis, 69, of Fayetteville died May 30, 2001. He was born May 15, 1932, in Whorton Creek in Madison County to Tom and Ella Faddis.

He lived in Huntsville most of his life and worked with his brother in the bulldozing business. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the 485th Engineer Combat Battalion while stationed in Regensburg, Germany.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Hawkins Faddis, to whom he was married 46 years; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Morris and Roger of Fayetteville; one grandson, Hayden F. Morris; one brother, Elmer Faddis of Hindsville; two sisters, Geneva Edwards of Hindsville and Betty Thomas of Springdale.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Brashear's Funeral Home in Huntsville with burial in Huntsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be present.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1257, Huntsville.

Charles Eugene Farmer, known to everyone as Gene, 58, of Compton, died August 15, 1999 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. He is the son of Vassie and Georgia Spencer Farmer and was born November 13, 1940 in Ponca, Arkansas.

He was a bus driver for Kingston Schools and owned and operated a backhoe service. He was a life time resident of Compton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Charlene Brewer and Patsy Hale.

Survivors include: his wife, Deanna of the home; one son, Gary Farmer of Compton; three daughters, Jeana Shaver, of Branson, Mo., Deana Farmer of Harrison; Jennie House of Ponca; five grandchildren, Brent Clark, Tera Clark, Tyler Farmer Parker, Jorden Campbell, and Justin House.

Funeral services were held Wednesday August 18 at 10 a.m. at Crossroads Church at Compton officiated by Donnie Villines and Claude Williams. Pallbearers were: Hillard Villines, Sherman Villines, Willard Villines, Ocalee Gibbins, Riner Gibbins, Caiden Barron, David Howard and Jack Colston. Allie Mae Fifer, 97, of Yukon died May 28, 2001, at Quail Creek Nursing Home in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was born Sept. 9, 1903, in Huntsville to Jacob Allen and Mary Belle Parks Fifer. She was a retired secretary for the Army Corps of Engineers in Tulsa, Okla.

She is survived by nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Huntsville Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Hafenbreidel officiating. Arrangements are by Brashears Funeral Home in Huntsville. {mn}

Benjamin Figlewski, 94, of Rogers died May 28, 2001, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born Oct. 15, 1906, in Chicago, Ill., to Antoni and Anna Martynowicz Figlewski. He worked for Sinclair Oil/Atlantic Richfield for 37 years. He moved to the area in 1971 from Homewood, Ill. He was a Catholic. His wife, Lucille McCowne Figlewski, died in February 1978.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Figlewski of Upper Montclair, N.J.; one daughter, Joan Horberg of Evanston, Ill.; two grandchildren, Sarah Figlewski and Celia Figlewski.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Callison-Lough Funeral Service in Rogers.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Assumption Cemetery in Glenwood, Ill., under the direction of Ryan Funeral Home in Homewood. {mn}

James Benjamin Fleming, 90, of Huntsville, died October 3, 1999 at the Eureka Springs convalescent Center at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. He was born August 5, 1909 at Cumberland, Maryland, the son of Francis Seigel and Lula Lake Fleming. He was comptroller and part owner of Charlotte Photo Engraving in Charlotte, North Carolina prior to his retirement. After retirement, he and his wife lived in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina and Hickory, North Carolina for several years. He was ordained an elder in the Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church at Charlotte, North Carolina by his son, Dr. James P. Fleming. His church membership rests in the First Presbyterian Church of Hickory, North Carolina. He and his family were lifelong Presbyterians. He was an active Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite and a Shriner. He was a sixth great-grandson of Josiah Bartlett, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and delegate from New Hampshire. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mrs. Ruth Patterson Fleming on October 14, 1985

Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-laws, Jay Milton and Peggy Fleming of Tamarac, Florida, John William and Delores Fleming of Newport News, Virginia and James Patterson and Jeanne Fleming of Huntsville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and thirteen stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5th at the First Presbyterian Church at Huntsville with Rev. William P. Connell officiating. Graveside services will held Friday, October 8 at the Sherrills Ford Presbyterian Cemetery at Sherrills Ford, North Carolina with Dr. James P. Fleming officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. {mcr}

He attended college at Polytechnical College at Russellville majoring in education and science. He taught school Newton, Madison and Pope counties for several years. He later attended Oklahoma A&M at Stillwater majoring in aeronautics. During World War II, he was assigned to Douglas Aircraft at Tulsa, Okla. as United States Air Force Material Procurement Inspector. He later moved back to the family farm at Hickory Grove where he started a herd of registered polled Hereford cattle and taught school for five more years. He lived at his farm for the remainder of his life time. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Remel Flud.

Survivors include his wife, Vivan Simmons Flud of the home; a son, Don H. Flud of Hickory Grove and a daughter, Mary Perry of Deer; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday, June 5 at the Hickory Grove Community Building with Bro. Bobby Young officiating. Burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home. Visitation was open at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Pallbearers were Dorlon Brown, Robert Winnat, Dwain Martin, Jerry Williams, Alan Davis, James Davis and Carroll Ober. Franklin Lee Folkes, 43, of Paragould, died Thursday, March 15, 2001 at his residence. He was born April 8, 1957, in Paragould. He was a disabled gun-smith and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Folkes of the home; a son, Aaron Oliver of Paragould; his maternal grandmother, Helen Mayberry of Paragould; a sister, Sandra West of Paragould; and one brother, Johnny Roger Folkes of Millington, TN.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Mitchell Funeral Home in Paragould with Sam Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jesse Ivie, Chris West, Darrell West, Brad West, Bill West, and Josh West. {nct}

William P. 'Bill' Forbush, 62, of Huntsville, died October 1, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center at Springdale. He was born March 23, 1937 at Ozark, Arkansas, the son of William Preston and Evie Cora Cudd Forbush II. He was an automobile mechanic.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Brenda K. Wood Forbush of the home; three sons, Preston Forbush of the home, James Ouelette and Donald Ouelette, both of Goshen; one daughter, Miss Juaneva K. Forbush of the home; one granddaughter.

Charolette C. Fowler, 58, died Saturday, May 12, 2001 at her home. She was born January 28, 1943 at Clayton, New Mexico, the daughter of C.C. and Gertrude Owens Clements.

She was a retired Business Development Officer for Arvest Trust Company/McIlroy Bank Division. She was a member of the North Street Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister, two half-brothers and one half-sister.

She is survived by her husband, Leon Fowler of the home to whom she was married for 34 years. Two sons; S. Clark Fowler of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mike Fowler of Providence, Rhode Island. Two brothers; Edward Clements of Rolla, Missouri and Fred Clements of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Four sisters; Tenny Ryan of Midwest City, OK; Cleta Long of Locust Grove, OK; Jane Miller of Claremore, OK; Shirley Knowles of Bella Vista, AR. One half-brother Lamoine Goodman of California; one half-sister, Joyce Kempson of Owassa, OK

Memorial services were Wednesday May 16 at North Street Church of Christ. Under the direction of Moore's Chapel. John W. Gay officiating. Eulogy by Mike Fowler. Burial will be at a later date at Son's Chapel Cemetery.

Earl Hurchal Fowler, 80, of Ponca, Arkansas died May 11, 2001 at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale Arkansas.

He was born November 23, 1920, the son of Ed and Belle Wyatt Fowler in Cave Mountain, Arkansas. He was a lifelong resident of Newton County. Mr. Fowler was a farmer, certified welder, and a county road grader operator. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran and served as Newton County Sheriff from 1973-1979.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Charlie, Audie, Walter, Troy, and Chester Fowler; and two sister, Bessie Edwards and Mintie Flager.

Survivors include, his wife, Dorthy Carroll Fowler, one son and daughter-in-law, Eddy and Sandy Fowler of Ponca, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Earlene and Ronnie Villines of Harrison, Arkansas. One brother and sister-in-law, Efton and Ruby Fowler of Harrison, Arkansas. Three granddaughters, Sandra and Randy Moore; Melanie and Scottie Trammell; Leah Fowler and grandson John Fowler, all of Harrison Arkansas.

Services were May 14, 2001 at Boxley Baptist Church. Interment was in Cave Mountain Cemetery. with the Rev. Charles Taylor and Rev. Claude Williams officiating.

Pallbearers were Vernon Fowler, Jimmy Fowler, Elvin Samuels, C.W. Ward, Fred Bell, Gary Farmer, and Ray Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers were Efton Fowler, John Fowler, Randy Moore, Scottie Trammell, Billy Fields, and Bill Duty. {mcr}

Clarence William Freeman, 90, of Clarksville died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. He was a native of Newton County, son of the late John and Emma Jane Robinson Freeman, retired timber employee, and attended the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charles Holt of Lamar, and Pat Fitzgerald and Linda Lloyd, both of Clarksville; two sons, Fred Freeman and Charles Freeman, both of Clarksville; three brothers, Clifford Freeman of Clarksville, Dewey Freeman of Dayton, Ohio, and Corby Freeman of Concord, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Parsons officiating. Burial was in Lamar Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Holt, Mike Holt, Jeff Holt, Kevin Lloyd, Roger Lloyd, and Tim Freeman. {nct}

January 28, 1942 Our city was made sad Wednesday in the death of T.F. Freeman, pioneer Westville merchant. Mr. Freeman had been poorly for some months, having recently sold his farm southwest of town and moved into our city on account of ill health.

Born September 15, 1869 in Georgia, he moved with his parents in childhood to Arkansas, moving to Westville 21 years ago, most of this time being spent in the mercantile business. Mr. married Lizzie Dee McCarthy, January 1, 1892. To this union seven children were born.

Surviving are his widow and six children. Funeral services will be held at Roberts Funeral Chapel Friday at 1:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Robert Burns, with burial at Dutch Mills under the direction of the Masonic Lodge. {wr}

Eugene Fritts, 81, of Fayetteville died July 12, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born July 6, 1920, in Huntsville to Alonza and Annie Cullins Fritts.

He retired from Fairchild AFB in Washington state after 23 years with the Air Force as a medical technical surgeon.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Abbott Fritts, to whom he was married 53 years; one daughter, Sandra J. Green of Fayetteville; two grandsons, Corey Allen Green and Scott Paul Green, both of Hamden, Conn.; one granddaughter, Tracey Lynn Trowbridge of Meriden, Conn.; three great-granddaughters.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery in Fayetteville with the Rev. Buel Curtis officiating.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. {mn}
