Garland O. Gardner, 79, of Farmington died May 21, 2001, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born Oct. 12, 1921, in Stilwell, Okla., to Orange and Sarah Watkins Gardner. He was retired from the Washington County Road Department. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW and Full Gospel Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Justine Sasser Gardner of the home; one son, Eugene Gardner stationed at Jacksonville AFB in North Little Rock; one daughter, Linda Wilhite of Farmington; two brothers, Pat Gardner of Springdale and Jess Gardner of Elkins; two sisters, Edna King of West Fork and Betty Faulkner of Huntsville; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at National Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. {mn, mcr}

Lillie Mae George, 86, of Springdale died January 14, 1988 at Springdale Memorial Hospital. She was born January 18, 1901, in Madison County, the daughter of Noah and Sarah Brooks Cornelison. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shiloh Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include two sons, Corbett George of Sringdale and Leroy George of Pontiac, Mich.; five daughters, Cuba Glenn, Zelma Taylor, Mrs. Charles (Erma) Pine, Mrs. James (Virginia) Rhine and Alive Glenn, all of Springdale; 48 grandchildren; 90 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Services were today at Sisco Chapel of Springdale with burial in National Cemetery. {mn} Rosa Cline

Amos Calvin Gibbs, 60, of Springdale died February 20, 2001 at Springdale. He was born June 24, 1940 in Densmore to Thomas S. and Martha B. Baughman Gibbs. He was a farmer and a Baptist.

Survivors include three brothers, Omer Gibbs of Justin, Texas; Roy Gibbs and Luther Gibbs, both of Elm Springs; two sisters Zula Walker of Huntsville and Dorothy Moppin of Hindsville.

Services were at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Paul Payne officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Luther Gibbs, Roy Gibbs, Omer Gibbs Matthew Gibbs, Clifford Miller, and Carrol Smith. {mcr}

Roy Dean Gibson, 49, of Bentonville, Arkansas, died April 23, 1999 at the Bates Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born October 1, 1940 at Phoenix, Arizona, the son of Billy Joe Gibson, Sr. and Melba Modell Flowers Gibson. He was a painter and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by one son, Bobbie Lee Gibson and by one brother, Jerry Gibson.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Linda Brown Gibson of the home; three sons, Tommy Gibson of Rogers, Larry Gibson and Brian Gibson, both of Lincoln,; three step-daughters, Rachel Rogers of Bella Vista, Becky Clyburn and Zan Clyburn, both of Rogers; his parents of Pettigrew; three brothers, Joe Gibson of Bentonville, James Gibson and Ron Gibson, both of Pettigrew; three sisters, Sue Hults of Lowell, Lynn Williams of Delaney and Barbara Lacy of Elkins; two grandsons, Brandon Gibson and Cameron Gibson, both of Rogers.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the Cove Church with Rev. David Flowers officiating. Interment was in the Cove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Joe Gibson, James Gibson, Ron Gibson, Ray Lacy, Gary Brown and Doug Flowers.{mcr}

Rueben Gomez, 55, of Fayetteville died May 15, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., to Jesus and Glafira Morón.

Survivors include one son, Daniel Gomez, two daughters, Michelle and Angie; one brother, Paul Gomez of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Gloria Garcia of Fayetteville and Carmen Sears of High Point, N.C.

Cremation arrangements were by Beard's Funeral Chapel in Fayetteville. A memorial service will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the home of Rachel and Michael Reed, 9 W. Elm St., Fayetteville. {mn}

Leona Anna Graham, 83, of Springdale died December 10, 2000, at Fayetteville. She was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Olathe, Kan., to Arthur and Grace Stanley Secor. She was retired from Welch Foods, was a member of Berry Street Baptist Church, and she enjoyed quilting. Her husband, Gilbert George Graham, precede her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, betty Shrum of Springdale; one brother, Kenneth Secor of Jay, Okla.; two grandchildren; Rhonda Paschal and Bret Bivins; two great-grandchildren, Emily Pashcel and Ashley Bivins.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Richard Perry officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Shrum, Bobby Pashcel, Don Pashcal, Donnie Ganoong, Bobby Smith and Chris Castleman.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.

Grace Ellen Grant, 94, of Alta Loma, California died February 5, 2001 at Vintage Elite Guest Home in Alta Loma. She was born August 25, 1906 in Kingston, Arkansas, the daughter of Thaddeus Steven and Matilda Inas Yingst. She had lived in California since 1928, moving there with her family from Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and former custodian for the Ontario-Montclair School District. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saint, Alta Loma 1st Ward.

Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Grant; two sisters, Etta Frisby and Susie Yingst; and four brothers, John, Ted , Fred, and Herbert Yingst.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond and Robert Grant of Alta Loma; two sisters, Bess Campbell of Oroville, California and Lucy Stansell of San Bernardino, California; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services were held Thursday, February 8, 2001 at Alta Loma 1st Ward chapel with President Lynn Reeder officiating.

Interment was in Forrest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina, California. {mcr}

Camden E. Greene, 83, of Fayetteville died June 4, 2001. He was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Louisville, Miss., to Camden Berkley and Nevada Files Greene. He was a retired naval officer who served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was active with Baptist Health Systems Foundation, the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Foundation and the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a retired farmer. His wife of 56 years, Dortha Sue Greene, preceded him in death on Feb. 9, 2001.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan K. Greene of North Little Rock; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Greene and Tamara of Fayetteville; six grandchildren, including Carrie Greene, Connor Greene and Berkley Greene, all of Fayetteville; one sister, Nina Elmore of North Little Rock. Graveside services are at 10 a.m. today in National Cemetery in Fayetteville under the direction of Beard's Funeral Chapel of Fayetteville. {mn}

Junice C. Greenhaw, 67, of Harrison died Wednesday, May 23, 2001 in Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, May 26 at Holt Chapel in Harrison with Rev. Charles Christian and Rev. Carl Goodall officiating. Burial is in Smith Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 25 at Holt Chapel.

The son of Brice and Annie (Reddell) Greenhaw was born December 16, 1933 in Vendor, Ark. He was a farmer and a member of Hasty Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Esther Graham Greenhaw of the home; five sons, Donald of Everton, Dale of Hasty, Darrell of Harrison, Keith of Western Grove and Kerry of Harrison; two daughters, Karen Armer and Sharon Cross, both of Harrison; three brothers, Athel and Jimmie Greenhaw, both of Harrison, and Billy Joe of Western Grove, Ark.; two sisters, Gean Earwood of Western Grove and Lou Baker of Harrison; and 14 grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Donald, Dale, Darrell, Keith and Kerry Greenhaw, Allen Armer and Louis Cross. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren. {nct}

Mr. Speed Gregory, 65, of Sanger, Calif., a long time resident of Watts, died in the Veterans Hospital at Fresno, Calif., May 7, 1959. Services for Mr. GREGORY were conducted at 2 p.m., May 12 at the Watts Baptist church. He was a native of St. Paul, Arkansas, born May 19, 1894, and a veteran of World War 1, he received a metal for bravery. Burial was in the Baptist Mission Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Jack Gregory of Watts, a daughter, Helen Jane Fravotta of Chicago, Ill., five grandchildren, two brothers, Henry of Watts, and John of Stilwell, Okla.; four sisters, Susie Nickens of Tulsa, Pearl Robinson and Goldia Dunlap of Watts, Sylvia West of Findley, Ohio.

Pall bearers were, Owen Buffington, John Jones, Earl Waldroop, J.H. Bagby, Earnest Molthan and Chester Erickson. Flower bearers were, Jewel Maggard, Joyce Covey, Gwen Nickens, Wanda Spinks, Aileen and Wilma Dean Wilson.

Other out of town relatives and friends attending included Jimmy Frabotta son-in-law of Chicago, Ill., Noah Nickens, brother-in-law, of Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Nickens, nephew; Leon Nickens, great nephew; Kenneth Robinson, nephew; Inez Nickens, niece; Lenair Covey, Jack Dobbins, Arnold Maggard, all of Tulsa; Glenna Vanhooser, niece, of Boynton, Okla.; Glen Robinson, nephew, of Midwest City, Okla. {sqt}

Mrs. Martha Guthrie, 90, died Saturday, November 23, 1991 at the Alvarado Hospital in San Diego, California. Mrs. Guthrie was born December 15, 1900 in Boxley, Arkansas, to Sam Sherfield and Tilda Robinson Sherfield.

Survivors include: two sons, Virgil of California and Vindle of Oklahoma; one daughter, Pearl of California; four sisters, Millie and Bertha of Arkansas and Ora and Josie of California; 26 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.

Services were held Friday, November 29 in the Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville with Sister Flossie Fanning of Westville officiating. Interment was in the Westville City Cemetery. {nct}

Ed Guthrie, 83, of Fayetteville died Dec. 13, 1999, in Fayetteville. He was born June 26, 1916, in Wayne County, Iowa, to Edd and Ida May Linvell Guthrie. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and attended Providence Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a Fiberglas fabricator in the aircraft industry. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ida Mae Boyd Guthrie.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Hankins Guthrie of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Roberta Dexter and Harold of Garden Grove, Calif.; seven stepchildren; two sisters, Letha Brown of Elkins and Evelyn Bailey of Keevil, Ky.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Nelson Funeral Service in Berryville with the Rev. Doug Harris officiating. Burial will be in Berryville Cemetery. {mn}

Edie Virgil Guthrie, 84, died Friday, September 18, 1992, at Memorial Hospital in Stilwell. Guthrie, a retired lineman, was born July 4, 1908 in Russellville, Arkansas, to John Guthrie and Minnie Johnson Guthrie.

Survivors include his wife, Thelma; one brother, Alfred, both of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, September 21 in the Roberts Chapel in Westville with Rev. Harold Reed of Lincoln, Arkansas, officiating. {sqn}
