Russell Marvin Laird, 53, of 12680 Ervin McGarrah Road, Lowell, Arkansas, died June 16, 2000 at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born August 9, 1946 at Brush. Colorado, the son of Marvin Jasper and Mary Ellen Stienbarger Laird.He was a retired toolmaker and attended the Elkins Full Gospel Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Jennie Lue Callahan Laird of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Icela Laird of Rogers, Arkansas and J ames and Helena Laird of Lowell, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Rena and Chon Zamora of Fayetteville, Arkansas; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ellen Laird of Huntsville, Arkansas; four brothers, Harold Laird of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, Bobby Laird of Huntsville, Arkansas, Dwight Laird of Bentonville, Arkansas and Paul Laird of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters, Ms. Judy Laird of Rogers, Arkansas and Mrs. Debra Siverly of Forum, Arkansas; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Brannan and Rev. Kelly Yarbrough officiating. Interment will be in the Bohannan Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be: Walter Callahan, Kenneth Callahan,Ricky Callahan, Mike Callahan, Eric Black, George Schatz and Ken Vinson. {mcr}

Alfred T. Lau, 83, of Little Flock died May 11, 2001, at his home. He was born May 1, 1918, in Garner, Iowa, to William and Sena Blank Lau.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on aircraft carriers the Hornet and the Lexington. He was an agent/operator for the Rock Island Railroad for many years in Iowa before moving to Rogers in 1978. He was a Methodist and enjoyed golfing, fishing, yard work and bird watching.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lau, to whom he was married 46 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alisa Sieckman and Gary of Ashland, Mo., and Linda Enos and Patrick of Reno, Nev.; two grandchildren, Megan of Ashland and Willie of Reno; one brother, Leroy Lau.

No services are planned. Cremation arrangements are by Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. {mn}

Nettie Frances Lewis, 82, of Nail died Saturday, May 29, 1999, at her home. She was a native of Clarksville, daughter of the late Willie and Susie Sparks Woods, and a member of the Mossville United Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Denver Lewis; one son, Ray Lewis of Nail; one brother, Noah Woods of Mossville; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Donley of Shiloh, Mrs. Dosha Robinson of Swain, Mrs. Nellie Cranford of Aurora, Mrs. Audrey White of Greeley, Colo., and Mrs. Ruby Powell of Huntsville; three granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the Mossville United Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Woods officiating. Burial will be in Mossville Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville. Pallbearers will be Danny Woods, Kennie Woods, Arlis Woods, Landon Woods, Billy Woods, Charlie Curtis, Dwight Grayson, Steve Adams, and Kevin Robertson. {nct}

Cindy Loyd, 42, of Fayetteville died May 29, 2001, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. She was born June 9, 1958, in Waynoka, Okla., to Jack and Connie Janney Haltom. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, where she taught Sunday school in the college and youth departments and served on several committees. She was also active in the Baptist Student Union.

Survivors include her husband, Lynn Loyd, to whom she was married March 4, 1978; one son, Jesse Loyd of the home; two daughters, Jacque Loyd and Lyndsey Loyd, both of the home; her mother of Alva, Okla.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Dr. Jere D. Mitchell and the Rev. David James officiating. Burial will be in Mount Comfort Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Student Union, University of Arkansas, 944 W. Maple, Fayetteville, 72701, or First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 906, Fayetteville, 72702-0906. {mn}

Laura Louella Lynch, 93, of Springdale died Jan. 30, 2001, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. She was born Sept. 2, 1907, at Garden City, Texas, to Robert Person and Mary Margaret "Maggie" Black Joyner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. George Ernest Lynch, on Sept. 17, 1990.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Lynch and Jessie of Springdale; three brothers, Robert W. Joyner of Hindsville, Gilbert Joyner of Cave Springs and Harry Joyner of Springdale; one sister, Georgia Archer of Springdale; seven grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Lee Galloway officiating. Burial will be in the Hickory Grove Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home of Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be Don Evans, David Frank, Mike Howerton, Ed Howerton, Danny Frank and Billy Edmonson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. {mn}
