Myrtle Marie Tate, 86, of Clarksville died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Countryside Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, widow of Joe A. Tate, daughter of the late Thomas and Nelly Kimple Ricketts, and was preceded in death by one son, Elick E. Tate; one sister, Nannie Ricketts; and two brothers, Roy Ricketts and Willis Ricketts.

She is survived by five daughters, Betty L. Tate, Goldie M. Stewart, Dolly I. Sinor, and Lorean K. Brasfield, all of Clarksville, and Ruby J. Fowler of Ozark; four sons, Joe Lee Tate Jr. of Clarksville, Loyd A. Tate and Paul E. Tate, both of Ozone, and Guy L. Tate of Lamar; one sister, Flora Pincomb of Vernon, Mich.; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, at the Ozone Full Gospel Church with Rev. Charles R. Boone officiating. Burial will be in Case Cemetery at Fallsville under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Guy L. Tate Jr., Jimmy Stewart, Earnest Tate, Guy Tate, James Tate, and Jamey Chesser. {nct}

Darrell W. Taylor, 48, of Clifty died Sunday, February 4, 2001, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born March 1, 1952, in Vandoser, Mo., the son of William Allen and Gladys Oma Barnett Taylor. He was an employee of PGI Nonwovens, formerly Scott Paper Co., for 15 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and loved the outdoors and electronics.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Desirae Crow, and a grandson, Daniel Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Gean Taylor; four daughters, Marsha Buskirk of Bentonville, Sandra Taylor of Springdale, Loretta Crown of Forum and Kimberly Weaver of Elmore, Okla.; two sons, Brian Barber of Elmore and Steven Barber of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Janis Canada of Cave Springs and Patricia Walker of Springdale; 13 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8 at Moore's Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery.

Elizabeth Ann Taylor died May 28, 2001, at Butterfield Trail Village in Fayetteville. Miss Taylor was born January 23, 1910, at the family home in Ludwig, a community north of Clarksville in Johnson County. Her parents were James Henry and Mattie Shropshire Taylor. Elizabeth had a lifelong commitment to education. She graduated from John Brown University and Junior College and received her bachelor's degree in business education from the College of the Ozarks in Clarksville. She remained on staff at the College of the Ozarks for five years, on staff at the University of Arkansas for one year, and registrar at Fort Smith High School (Northside) for one year. Elizabeth was registrar at Hendrix College in Conway from 1941 to 1946 and then went to Chicago, where she was an assistant examiner and recorder at the Chicago Undergraduate Division of the University of Illinois, Navy Pier. This facility was established after World War II to assist returning soldiers in getting an education. Later, this campus was relocated to Chicago Circle. From 1956 to 1959, she worked for La Salle Extension University. In February 1959, Elizabeth joined the faculty of the city colleges of Chicago as a business teacher. She earned a master's degree in business education from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., in 1958. While with the city colleges, she continued to pursue graduate study and before her retirement in 1975, she had attained the rank of full professor. Elizabeth traveled extensively in North America, Europe, Asia, Northern Africa and Australia. In 1967, she did a very memorable sabbatical in the Pacific, visiting Tahiti, Figi, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Bangkok, the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan and Hawaii. Elizabeth retired to Fort Smith in 1975 and moved to Butterfield Trail Village in 1987. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Henry Taylor of Fort Smith; Johnson Taylor of Clarksville and Houston Taylor of Clarksville. Sisters, Mrs. Mamie Woodard of Clarksville; Mrs. Beulah Edgmon of McLoud, Okla.; Mrs. Mattie Sue Wolfe of Fort Smith and Mrs. Edna Rupport of Clarksville.

Elizabeth is survived by four nephews, Leon Woodard of Silver Springs, Md., Houston Taylor Jr. of Springfield, Mo., Joe Edgmon Jr. of Oklahoma City, and Fred Taylor of Clarksville. Eight nieces, Mrs. Nelda Dean Womack and Mrs. Mattalee Fawcett of Fort Smith, Mrs. Virginia Morris of Fayetteville, Mrs. Marylynn Higgs of Pine Bluff, Mrs. Louann Gomez of McLoud, Okla., Mrs. Lila Doepke of St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Carol Sue Chung of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Shirley Ann Evans of Yellville. Many great and great-great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends and former students.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Butterfield Trail Village Health Care Center, or an educational institution of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Butterfield Trail Village on Monday, June 4, 2001, at 1:30 p.m. Private inurnment will be held with family members in Nanney Cemetery near Yellville. Gladys Oma Taylor, 69, of Cave Springs died April 20, 1993, at her home. She was born March 26, 1924, in Romance, the daughter of John and Elsie Gray Barnett. She was a homemaker and was a Pentecostal. She moved to Cave Springs in 1979 from Springdale.

Survivors include her husband, William Taylor of the home, to whom she was married on March 10, 1947; one son, Darrell Taylor of Cave Springs; two daughters, Janis Canada of Bentonville and Patricia Wade of Anderson, MO; one brother, Jim Barnett of New Madrid, MO,; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Jennifer Taylor, 20, of Rogers, died May 19, 1999 in Chewey, Okla. She was born December 27, 1978, in Dallas, Texas, Robert 'Bob' Taylor and Tereasa Vickers. She was a 1996 graduate of Fayetteville High School and was a student at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Rogers. Survivors include, Indica Taylor, of Rogers; her mother of Springdale; her father of Springdale; three sisters, Maria Taylor, Rachael Raben, both of Springdale; and Becky Vickers of Wilkesboro, N.C.; four brothers, Luke Taylor, Erik Raben, Kevin Vickers, all of Springdale, and Greg Vickers of Pocla, Okla. ; Maternal grandparents, Melton and Jean Davison of Richardson, Texas; Paternal grandmother, Earlene Taylor of Dallas, Texas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rolling Hills Baptist Church in Fayetteville with Johnny Sisemore officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery in Springdale.

Marie A. Teed, 89, of Rogers died May 25, 2001, in Rogers. She was born Dec. 10, 1911, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Alfred and Marie Malke Zeissig. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Rogers and Martha Chapter 215, Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Floyd J. Teed, preceded her in death.

Survivors include one stepson, Robert J. Teed of Rothbury, Mich.; one brother, Werner O. Zeissig of Decatur, Ind.; 15 grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church of Rogers, with the Rev. Erik Boye officiating. Burial will be in Glen Eden Lutheran Memorial Park in Livonia, Mich., at a later date. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Callison-Lough Funeral Service of Rogers.

Albert N. Thomas, 91, of Rogers, Ark., died Tuesday, November 14, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born July 25, 1909, in Fallsville, Ark., to James Monroe Thomas and Hanna Elizabeth Harold Thomas. He moved to the area in 1937 from Swain, Ark. He married Laura Sandlin on December 21, 1934, in Swain. He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Christ of Pea Ridge, Ark. He was an avid fisherman and fox hunter.

Survivors include four sons: John D. Thomas of Blair, Neb., Dwight Wayne Thomas of Rogers, Jerry Orville Thomas of Lowell, Ark., and Carl Max Thomas of Siloam Springs, Ark.; 19 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Thomas; a son, Albert A. Thomas; three brothers; and five sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville, Ark.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, at the Callison-Lough Funeral Chapel with Jack Sandlin.

Benjamin Frank Thomas, 94, resident of Springdale, died Oct. 31, 2001, in Springdale. He was born March 16, 1907, in Swain, the son of Jim and Adline Watson Thomas.

He moved to the area in 1948 from Boxley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Edgmon Thomas in 1971, two sons, Max Thomas and Glen Thomas, two grandchildren and three brothers.

Survivors include seven sons, James Thomas of Wheeler, Wayne Thomas, Vernon Thomas, Donald Thomas, Dean Thomas, Larry Thomas and Charles Thomas, all of Springdale; three daughters, Fayrene Daugherty of Springdale, Shirley Terry of Fayetteville and Carolyn Riggins of Lowell; 31 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 2, 2001, at Zion Cemetery with Bobby Dockery officiating.

Opal Cowan Yarbrough Thomas, 78, of Wichita, Kansas, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Wichita. She was a daughter of the late Claude and Marvie Thomas Cowan and a Pentecostal.

Survivors include her husband, James A. Thomas; one daughter, Mary Catherine Yarbrough Comstock of Wichita, Kan.; four sons, Ancil Lee Yarbrough of Wichita, Kan., Billie Ray Yarbrough of Rogers, Leroy Yarbrough of Oark, and Gary Nolan Yarbrough of Clarksville; three sisters, Irma Lee Hill of Oark, Juanita Hardin of Clarksville, and Corene Benn of Wichita, Kan.; two brothers, Haskel Cowan of Clarksville and Virgel Cowan of Oark; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Wayne Thomas, 73, of Springdale died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Springdale.

Born March 25, 1928, in Swain, he was the son of Frank and Opal Edgmon Thomas.

He was self-employed. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Zonya Diane Thomas.

Floyd W. Thompson, 76, of Russellville died May 26, 2001, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs. He was born July 28, 1924, in Gibson County, Tenn., to Robert William and Lottie Mary Cooper Thompson. He was a former wirebound machinist for the Little Rock Crate and Basket Co., and he was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Thompson, to whom he was married 57 years; one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie Thompson and Mary of Magnolia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Bettye Burt and Glen of Russellville, Cathy Foster and Richard of Little Rock and Carol Marshall and T.R. of Fayetteville; two sisters, Francis Witherspoon and Sue McCartney, both of Tennessee; three grandchildren.

Ethel Tilley, age 95, a resident of Russellville, Arkansas died Monday, March 12, 2001 at St. May's Regional Medical Center in Russellville. Mrs. Tilley was born February 16, 1906 at Ben Hur, AR. a daughter of Howard and Mary Humphrey Standridge. She was a member of the Ben Hur Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Tilley, a son Jimmy H. Tilley and her parents.

Mrs. Tilley is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Reverend Herbert & Betty Tilley of Knoxville, Arkansas, 2 step sons, William M. Richard L. Toothman, 55, of Rogers died May 28, 2001, at his home. He was born May 28, 1946, in Champaign, Ill., to Darrell J. and Lura E. Hildebrand Toothman. He was a machinist for Harris Baking Co., an Army veteran and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed woodworking, bowling, fishing and hunting. He moved to Rogers in 1979 from Champaign.

Elige Tucker, 79, of Berryville died Jan. 22, 1996, at Berryville. He was born Jan. 18, 1917, in Kingston to Thomas Cornelius and Mertie Bell Cline Tucker. He was a farmer and had worked for Ocoma Foods for 20 years, he was a World War II Army veteran and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ross Tucker of the home, to whom he was married March 7, 1941; one son, Jimmie Tucker of Springdale; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother Billie Tucker of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Sarah Gibbs of Springdale and Rosa Lee Phillips of Berryville.
