I John Carlton do make and publish this as my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. I am of sound mind and deposing memory I desire my property to go at my death as here in after directed and willed.
It is my will that all my just debts shall be paid out of any estate I may leave as soon after my death as may be reasonable done.
Second: I desire that all my funeral expenses shall be paid out of my Estate.
Third: I give and bequeath to my grand son Austin Carlton one dollar.
Fourth: I give and bequeath and devise all of the residue of my property Real and personal some mixed to my sons and daughters James W. Carlton William A. Carlton, & John Carlton & Franklin Carlton Sarah Swafford, Julia A. Long and Mary Henderson equally share and share a like at the time of my death but should I become to need financial attention before my death I will and bequeath my son or daughter a reasonable compensation out of my Estate Then the residue of my Estate shall go to all of my children equally except my Grand son Austin Carlton will not receive any thing from my estate except said sum of one dollar.
Fifth: I hereby nominate and appoint William A. Carlton to be my executor to execute this my Will without administering on my estate but to give each one of my heirs equal share except my grand son Austin Carlton.
In testimony whereof I hereunto sign and name in the present of A. R. McPherson and John Brasel who I have requested to act as my attesting Witnesses hereto and to whom I have declared to above is my last will and testament on the 29 day of Dec 1904
