This genealogy of descendants of Samuel Weaver, and John Weaver, two early White County, Tennessee pioneers, is derived mainly from information in their American Revolutionary War (ARW) pension applications. These two brothers were probably both born in the "Southside Virginia Counties." Samuel listed his birth place as Halifax County. Although John's ARW pension application states that he was born in "Campden, South Carolina," many scholars deem this a clerical error and that he was probably born in Camden Parish, Virginia (today a part of Henry Co., Virginia).

Both brothers participated in the ARW as soldiers from Washington Co., NC/TN. Samuel (but not John) was with John Sevier at the battle of King's Mountain. After the war, they went to Pendleton Dist, SC where they lived near their brothers and sisters in the vicinity of their father's lands on the Oolenoy River (about a mile or so SW of present-day Table Rock State Park).

At the turn of the century they moved to Claiborne Co., Tennessee. After just a few years in that area they both moved to the Cherry Creek area of White County where both remained the rest of their lives.

A number of descendants of Samuel, John, and their brothers and sisters are working to develop a genealogy of the entire family. The evidence indicates that the father's name was Daniel Weaver and that he probably had altogether some 10 children.
