Your email just cleared up a bit of my family Bible record.

I thought it was Mattie F. Box. Now I see it is Mattie T. Cox.

Bible Record (my great Grandmother Gracie Mae" is as follows:

"James W. Armistead and Mrs. Mattie T. Cox (nee Thornton)

were married May 19, 1868

John W. Reid and May Armistead were married Dec. 23, 1896.

Mrs. Mattie Armistead died Jan 19, 1880 age 42 years

James W. Armistead Died Jan 5, 1906 age 77 years

John W. Reid died Dec 31, 1924 age 58 years.

Gracie Mae Reid died Dec 6, 1925 48 years"

Notes for Daisy Armistead Williamson:

Daisy was my husband's grandmother.

Much of this information was copied from the Armistead family bible in Clarke Cty, AL

by Daisy Middlebrook on a visit there.

Family anecdote says Daisy really became incensed when the bible was taken from the

home place in AL and kept by a single family member.

My mother-in-law has her notes and information as well as Daisy's bible which is the source for the names and dates from James Westwood Armistead down.
