Queen Victoria Monument (early 1900s)
Victoria - Born May 24th 1819
Reigned - 1837 - 1901
The monument was originally sited in Towhhall Square (now Fargate) replacing an Obelisk (known locally then as "The Old Toothpick") which was resited in Endcliffe Park. The Queen Victoria monument was unveiled in May 1905 and stayed until 24th Feb 1930 when it was also taken down and joined the Obelisk in Endcliffe Park.
