Bacon Lane
In the booklets "The story of Old Attercliffe" by G R Vine it says Bacon lane was originally called Beighton Lane. Maybe after a man called Richard Beighton who lived nearby in the 17th century. There was also a family called Beighton living in Attercliffe in the 16th century. Repeated use of the word Beighton seems to have worn it down to Bacon.
