Blast Lane
From a coke fired blast furnace used for the smelting of iron and built in nearby Effingham Street by a man named Booth in 1786

bottom of Bard Street at the corner
with Broad St. Sheffield Parkway was
built across Blast Lane so making it now just a few yards in length this side
of the Parkway. Beyond the Parkway is Victoria
Quays (Canal Basin)

(under the Parkway) at the rear of Victoria Quays. Looking towards the bridge
where Lumley Street starts (top right). Blast Lane bears off to the left and
under the bridge. The road in the right foreground leads on to Sheffield Parkway.
The road straight ahead leads to Cutlers
Gate and access to the city centre / Wicker
/ Attercliffe areas.
