Castle Square
After Sheffield castle which stood nearby and was demolished
in 1648.
Angel Street in the background. The photo taken in 2003 shows what was formerly Market Place, renamed Castle Square about 1966 when the "Hole in the Road" subway was built. Theres not much difference to the 1960s photo To the left is High St and right leads to Haymarket, Fitzalan Square & Commercial St.
