Norwich Street (West)
(left) Norwich St (West) led up into South St then on into Duke St. The cobbled road is now only used by pedestrians to reach either the Supertram tramstops or the rear entrance to Midland Railway Station. The tram tracks left of photo was Granville Street. This end of the grass bank just forward of the lamp post was where the Granville Inn pub once stood at 89 Granville St. To the right behind the trees about halfway up the grassy bank was Bungay Lane connecting Norwich St with Bungay St. At the top of the grassy bank on South St was St Lukes church.
(right) At the top of the cobbled road in the left photo showing Norwidh Street (West) is South Street. This is where this photo was taken from. It shows what used to be (and still could be but I dont find any street road sign) the continuation of Norich Street which led to Duke Street behind the block of flats in the distance.
