Welcome to the Bundock Family in Essex, England! My site includes the genealogy of Bundock family members found in Essex, England from the beginning of existing parish records (early 1500's) to 1850. This is my first attempt at a website. I will constantly be updating and improving my site. Please check back often.
On a naive quest to find my particular Bundock ancestors in Essex, England, I stumbled onto lots and LOTS and a WHOLE LOT of Bundock family there. Who'd've guessed that there would be so many of them! Like Smiths or something. And the first names! All John, Thomas, Mary and/or Elizabeth.
I have researched hundreds of parish records, trying my best to decipher the unreadable scribble (sometimes written in Latin, adding insult to injury!). Here is my research. Nothing here is taken from anything but the parish records, censuses or wills that I found. All documented.
I've included all of the various spellings of Bundock (Bundick, Bonduck, Bundocke, etc.) but a separate section for the name "Bantock" with my collection, even though names were spelled phonetically back then. The stopping date 1850 was arrived upon because my particular ancestor, James Bundock of Layer Breton, left for Canada by 1835. Feel free to use my research to continue your own, more recent, research.
I'm slowly starting to connect all of these people together. It will take quite some time to connect all of them!
