Welcome to my Hill Family History website. The content of
this website concerns the Hills of Fairfield Township, Crawford
County, Pennsylvania, descendants of Archibald Hill, who
settled there on 400 acres about 1795. Archibald married Mary
Fulton, daughter of Thomas Fulton and Sarah Buchanan,
in 1800. Archibald and Mary had eight children; their two sons,
Timothy and Samuel, between them had twenty five
children. Today, their descendants are spread all over the United
States. A Reunion of the Descendants of Timothy and Samuel Hill
was held every year from 1921 until World War II, after which
it never really resumed. The top picture on the left was taken
at the fourth reunion, held at the home of Thomas Hill
in New Vernon, Mercer County, PA on 2 August 1924. The lower
picture was taken at the fifth reunion, held 8 August 1925 at
the home of Arthur Hill near Meadville, Crawford County,
PA.
On this website, I have tried to gather information on the
Hills and allied families. Any new information from any of my
cousins is welcome.
This Hill Family History site is part of my Evans Family website;
I am a direct descendant of Timothy Hill and Sarah Montgomery
on my mother's side. My great grandfather, Charles Alexander
Montgomery Hill with his wife, Margaret Chappell,
and two of his brothers, William and Arthur and
their wives, and a sister, Georgiana are shown on the
left in the second picture. Click on the picture to get an enlarged
view.
Feel free to browse any part of my website. I welcome feedback.
