This is the obituary of my mother, Johnnie "Elinor" (EDDINS) ZIMMERMAN, who recently passed away on March 23, 2005. EDDINS AND Nancy Unknown (4xgreat grandparents) As posted in the "Panama City News Herald", Panama City, Bay County, Florida, March 28, 2005: ELINOR EDDINS ZIMMERMAN Elinor Eddins Zimmerman, 83, of Southport, Fl., passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2005, at her home. She was born in Dothan, Ala., to her parents, Richard and Ida (Hardy) Eddins, and moved to this area in 1972. She was a waitress at the Dixie Sherman Hotel in the 1940's. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Zimmerman; two grandsons, Richard Zimmerman and Christopher Jones, six brothers, Glenn, Ralph, Paul, Charlie, Mark and Otha Ray Eddins; and a sister, Doris Kirvin. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Powell of Fountain, Fla., and Roger L. Zimmerman of Springfield, Fla.; four daughters, Linda Young and husband, Bill, of Southport, Fla., Judi Gharst and husband, Krea, of Bayou George, Fla., Janice Sullivan of Fountain, Fla., Carol Norwood and husband, Pete, of Bayou George, Fla.; two sisters, Louise Abston of Pell City, Ala. and Lydia Shoemaker and husband, Chuck, of Panama City, Fla.; three sisters-in-law, Gloria Eddins Keller, Little Doris Redd Eddins and Mildred Eddins of Ashford, Ala.; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews; and a lifelong friend, Blanch Jansenius of Panama City, Fla. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11am today, March 28, 2005, at Greenwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Winford King officiating.
