Sadie Edding Fowler is sitting in front. She was born April 11, 1888 at Grand Rapids, MI.

In the 1900 Federal Census she is listed as a "boarder" at the age of 11 living with the Carl & Emma Allen family. Her parents birth was; Father = Canada, Mother = Michigan. Her Mother, Ida Edding is shown living across town as a boarded, also. Her parents are listed as from: Father = Poland, Mother = Ohio.

She married Amos Fowler June 16, 1908 in Grand Rapids. Then migrated to Morrison, IL. in 1954 and she had nine children. Sadie died 3/6/1978 at the age of 89 at Rock Falls, ILL.

My problem: Can't find any Edding connections at Ohio or Poland immigration lists.

FATHER'S LINE;

Heinrich Wiese was born April 30, 1841 at Schönberg, Probstie, Holstein, Germany to Henry Wiese and Charlotte Allbrecht. Henry immigrated from the port of Hamburg 1866 and entered the USA at New York's Castle Garden facility where his name was changed to Henry. He went to Davenport, Iowa and worked as a cartwright. He married Christina Busch, from MO. October 12, 1867 and lived upstairs, on the East side of Mound St. 5 doors North of Main St. 1 st. daughter, Dora Wiese was born 1868 at Davenport. 1 st. son Louis Wiese was born 1871 at Davenport. Henry got a 140 acre homestead in Jackson County near Nashville, Iowa 1872 where he farmed. 2 nd. daughter, Ida Wiese was born 1874. Christina Wiese died June 22, 1877 at the age of 29 and is buried at the Busch Cemetery in Sharon Twp. Clinton County.

Henry married Caroline Schroeder born October, 1856 at Holstein and immigrated 1873 to Davenport on September 4, 1877 at Maquoketa, Iowa.

3 rd. daughter, Elizabeth Wiese was born October 12, 1883. 4 th daughter, Katherine Wiese was born 1884. 2 nd. son Henry Frank was born June 4, 1887. 5 th. daughter, Bertha Wiese was born Nov. 1890. 6 th. daughter, Amelia Wiese was born June 4, 1893 died October 2, 1973. 3 rd. son Benhart Wiese was born April 18, 1894 and last was 4 th. son Peter Wiese who was born Sept. 8, 1895.

Henry retired farming and moved to DeWitt, IA. in 1909 due to age and health. Henry died September 12, 1912 at Clinton, IA from pernicious anemia. and is buried at Elmwood Cemetery at DeWitt, IA.

Caroline Wiese continued living at DeWitt with Henry Jr., Kate, & Ben where Ben was employed as a cigar maker and made $300.00 a year by the 1910 census. Caroline died Aug. 19, 1939 from intestinal blockage at Miles, IA where she had been living with daughter Bertha for 2 years prior. She is buried next to Henry at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, IA.

Katherine (Kate) never married and died 1919. Burial is next to parents at Elmwood Cemetery.

Louis married Agnes Adelia Gottsch at Maquoketa, IA. on Jan. 29, 1898 Agnes was born 08/21/1879 at Schönberg, Holstein Germany of Heinrich and Carolina Gottsch. Immigrated to Wheatland, Iowa at the age of 13 in 1893. Lived with Henry Wiese and family at Nashville, IA. until after the 1900 census, along with her Mother = Carolina Gottsch, born 08/1856 brother = Richard Gottsch, born 03/1882 and sister - Amelia Gottsch, born 05/1886. Louis died Jan. 8, 1910 and was buried at Waterford Cemetery, Buckhorn, IA. Agnes died in Denver, CO. and is buried at Waterford Cemetery at Buckhorn, IA. She was survived by, son Henry of Denver, son Arnold of DesPlaines, IL. 1 Grand Daughter, 2 GGGsons, 2 sisters, Amelia Larsen of Denver, CO. Minnie Elssor of DeWitt, IA. and brother Richard of Baldwin..

Elizabeth married John T. Duemong at Maquoketa, IA. Feb. 7, 1906

Bertha married William Peters at Scott County, IA. Jan. 6, 1910

Henry Frank married Annie Hammer (b 8/1/1900) from Bluedance, IA. June 20, 1916 Henry died 1960 and Annie died 12/4/1969 both are buried at Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, IA.

Benhart Wiese disappeared after the 1915 Iowa census that showed him in DeWitt, IA. Next he married Grace Baughman at Morrison, IL. on Dec. 15, 1933. This was Grace's 2 nd marriage and Ben's 3 rd. They lived at 713 W. Morris Ave. and he worked at the General Electric Ice Box Factory across the street as a laborer. Banhart Wiese was born here July 15, 1936 Virginia Wiese was born here Nov. 13, 1934 Another gap in time and

R. L. Wiese was born Aug. 30, 1939 at Campbells Island, IL. and abandoned there. Next Ben was living over a bar at 109 W. Main St. Morrison, IL. when on April 6. 1942 he divorced Grace and got custody of Banhart & Virginia. Ben had been sentenced to on year at Vandalia on May 16, 1940 for sleeping with his sixteen year old sister-in-law, Hanna. No More is known until April 18, 1963 when he died of pneumonia at a nursing home in Davenport, IA. He is listed as buried at Elmwood Cemetery Block 2, lot 89

MOTHER'S LINE;

Grace Elizabeth Fowler was born 01/02/1913 at Morrison, IL. She died Apr. 29, 1977 at Rock Falls, IL. and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery there.

Her father was Amos Anson Fowler Born April 26, 1881 at Sparta, MI. to Father = Orrin Fowler of Ohio and Mother = Lotta Fowler of Illinois. He died Feb. 2, 1938 at Rock Falls, IL of dropsy, where he was given a military funeral for his WW I service. Her Mother was Sadie Mae Edding born April 11, 1888 at Grand Rapids, MI. Shown living as a border on the 1900 Fed. Census with the Carl Allen family at the age of 11. Her mother, Ida Edding is shown living as a boarder across town. No sign of her Father in 1900.

Amos and Sadie had the following children;

Mae Lillian Fowler was born Nov. 22, 1908 at MI. Died of cancer 7/16/1965 at Rock Falls, IL. Married George A Signor (b Oct. 12, 1905 at W. Brooklyn the son of S. G. and Annie (McNinch) Signor who died 9/3/1969 at Rock falls, IL. They had 1 daughter = Emma.

George Fowler was born Mar. 12, 1910 and died the same day at MI.

Grace Elizabeth Fowler was born Jan. 2, 1913 at Morrison, IL. and died Apr. 29, 1977 at Rock Falls, IL. She married Herbert Baughman of Comanch, IA. in 1931 ?? and gave birth to Herbert Jr on Feb. 2, 1932 he died May 7, 1987 at Clinton, IA. while living at home with her parents at Morrison, IL. Apparently divorced soon thereafter and married Benhart Wiese, (my dad) Dec. 15, 1933 at Morrison, IL. They had Banhart Wiese, b - July 15, 1936 He died Sept. 1995 of cancer. And then Virginia Wiese b.- Nov. 13, 1934 and died of cancer Jan. 14, 1998 at Florida. She had married Charles Holman and had 2 girls and 1 boy. Then was born me; Rose LaVerne Wiese Aug. 30, 1939 at Campbell's Island, IL Changed name to Art Mooney in 1955 and made it legal 1993 at San Antonio, TX. Still living as of 2003 but have terminal lung cancer. I have 7 boys and 1 girl that died, from 4 marriages. Grace next married Everett McNinch at Rock Falls and had Garaldine who now has 3 boys and 2 girls from 3 marriages and Dale McNinch b Dec. 5, 1950 and died 8/4/1986 of cancer at Rock Falls, IL.

Max Fowler b - Sep.15, 1916 died Feb. 3, 1942

Henry Fowler b - Aug. 3, 1918 d - June 6, 1919

Jeanette A. Fowler b - June 18, 1922 and d - July 5, 1978 of cancer at Sterling, IL. She married Wayne Van Drew June 25, 1942. She had 4 daughters.

Hannah Mae Fowler b -Nov. 14, 1923 d.- July 3, 1989 of cancer. She was married at least twice and had several children.

Elvin Eugene Fowler b.- May 9, 1928 and d.- July 13, 1929

Harriet June Fowler d.- Apr. 23, 1932 and d.- June 29, 1992 of cancer. She married John Muntean Dec. 18, 1976 she had 2 girls = Pricilla Fowler and Edith Muntean, 1 grand daughter and seven step children.
