1860 SLAVE SCHEDULE of INDIAN LANDS

1895 Maps of Indian Nations

The images found in the following indices were obtained from the Mid-Continent Public Library, Genealogy & Local History Branch, 317 East Highway 24, Independence, Missouri 64050. These records may also be obtained from the Central Plains Region, 2312 East Bannister Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131-3011. The imagaes are located at the end of Roll 54 1860 Arkansas Census

Because of my dedication to the Freedmen researcher, I have uploaded these images as a means to provide online searching, I share with you the information that I find in public places. It is my prayer that we all find what we are searching for. I would love to help you find your missing pieces but time does not permit me to maintain my web sites, research my family and work. Thus I use this site to share.

My research surnames are ROBERTS, STEVENSON, COLBERT, and PICKENS all are of the Chickasaw/Choctaw Nations. If you are researching these surnames of the Chickasaw/Choctaw Nations, I am more than willing to share what information we have in common.

The user of the schedule should know that slaves are not listed by name. Slaves are listed under the name of their slave owner. What you need to know before using these records:
1. The Nation inwhich your ancestor was a slave.
2. The Age
3. Sex (gender)
4. Color (this is not necessary, however if you know they were of mixed blood you may want to look at color)

The images are rather large and may load slow.

The Flag at the top of the page is a link to maps of Indian Lands.
