This picture shows Deverter
Gill in the top left hand corner. His wife is in front of him.
Deverter and Myrtle Mae Sollars were my Great Grandparents.
Deverter was born August 8, 1878 in Silverwood, Parke County,
Indiana and married sometime in 1908. Deverter's father was
Joseph Gill, born 1804 in Virginia. Joseph's , parents according
the the 1870 census were from England
The other couple were Alfred and Rose Hoestermarn. This picture
was taken at Silver Beach in Indiana. This was at a Dodge Picnic
in 1910. Dodge being the Dodge Manufacturing Company that was
located in Mishawaka, IN.
This picture shows Deverter
Gill when he was older and living in Parke County. Deverter was
born August 8, 1878, the son of Joseph Gill and Julia Griffin;
and he died April 28, 1962. He is buried with his third wife
Gracie Marie Judson, in the Miller Cemetery, Lodi, Parke Co.,
Indiana

In this picture is my
Grandfather Ralph (Doc) Kenneth Gill sr. He was 6 years old at
the time this picture was taken. Standing behind him is his
Grandmother Sarah Matilda Mc Donald, Sollars, Ross. Next to Sarah
to the right is Myrtle Mae Sollars, Gill and the tall one to the
far right is Dr. John Ross who is Sarah's second husband.
This is my Great Grandmother,
Georgie Marie Van Wormer, Matchett, Starrett. She was the
daughter of Otis Van Wormer and Ida Hammon. Grandma Georgie loved
to play practical jokes and was a very fun loving person. She was
born in 1888 in Indiana She was married to James Warner Matchett
in 1908 in Pierceton, IN and she married Charles Leonard Starrett
in 1919. Georgie Marie died in 1972 in Plymouth, IN
This is new found family, in
this picture is Pat Bush on the left and Uncle Raymond Morris
Gill in the middle and Wallace Bush (Great Grandson of Julia,
wife of my Great Great Grandfather Joseph Gill). Met with this
family on August 13, 1999 and this picture was taken in the
Miller Cemetery in Lodi, IN. Many Family members are buried
there.
DO YOU KNOW THIS PERSON??.
Picture was taken about 1948.
Her name is Thelma Louise Gill, she was born
on March 1, 1929 in Lodi, Indiana. It is known that she was
married in 1946 to an unknown; married in 1946 to a McCoy, he
died in 1949; married Ernest Donald Wilfong 24 Nov 1950, and that
they were divorced and that she maried; Russel Berg sometime
around 1951. If you have any further information on Thelma, I
would love to hear from you. Thelma is a Great Half Aunt and
sister to Uncle Raymond. He has lost track of her and would love
to hear from her or at least know what has happened to her. Sure
would love to find her or know what has become of her.
DO YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE??.
These photos were found in my
Grandfathers papers with some of his family. If you are
able to identify these men please let me know. I believe them to
either be part of the Gill Family or the Griffin Family or
connection to one of these two..
