Albert
J. Gibson was born in Indiana December of 1835 the son of Archelaus
Gibson and Hulda Carson. Albert’s father Archelaus, was born 1811 in Ohio, the
son of Abel Gibson & Cecila Harold, grandson of Archelaus Gibson &
Sarah Sumner and Great Grandson of Valentine Gibson and wife Elizabeth.
Albert’s mother Hulda Carson was born Sept. 28th, 1816 in Stokes,
North Carolina to the parents of John S. Carson and Bethana Jessup from
Kentucky.
November 8th,
1857 in Greene County, Iowa, Albert married Mary Seaman who was born September
1st, 1840 in Indiana. Mary was the daughter of Isaac Seaman and
Mary Ann Kennett, both of Ohio.
The 1880
census finds Mary Seaman a widow and living 2 farms away from Albert &
Mary Gibson. Living with Mary Seaman are her widowed daughter Rebecca Fleck,
son John and children of Rebecca.
Albert and
Mary were the parents of 6 children,
1. Anne Aliza born in Greene County,
Iowa 3-19-1859 and died 4-8-1864
2. Henry L. born July 25th,
1862 in Greene Co, Iowa, died April 20th, 1864.
