Charles was the 9^th child born to William Batson and Catherine Powers Batson. Charles married Mary Edna March 1^st, 1899 in Worth County, Missouri. They were the parents of 8 children, Vern, Crystal, Roy, Idrez, Twins Nora and Dora, Charles Jr. and a child who died as an infant. (see photo)
