Tarwater

A Facebook group for the Tarwater family is maintained. Originally designed for the Tarwaters of Ray County, Missouri; discussions have evolved to included Tarwater ancestry and collateral lines found in Blount, Franklin, Jefferson, Knox, Marion and Siever counties in Tennessee, along with Madison and Fayette counties in Alabama.

Because of copyright restrictions, research materials often cannot be posted on the web, so the reader is strongly encouraged to join the Tarwater Facebook group discussions.

Exceptionally well documented Tarwater trees are maintained on Ancestry.com by Fred Woods and Perry Iverson.

One of the top Tarwater researchers in the 1970s was Mary Inglis Sims. References to pieces of her work can be located on the web. Over 95 percent of anything she wrote in the 70s is still valid today--she was just that good.
