HUMOR FROM THE CENSUS
===========================================
Thanks to [email protected] who found this on the [email protected] mailing list, where it had been posted by [email protected] .

The census taker knocked on Miss Kimball's door. She answered all his questions except one. She refused to tell him her age.
"But everyone tells their age to the census taker," he said.
"Did Daisy Hill, and Loretta Hill tell you their ages?"
"Certainly."
"Well, I'm the same age as they are," she snapped.
"As old as the Hills," he wrote on his form.

HUMOR FROM THE DEAD
===========================================

* From the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah:
Many old death certificates contain wonderfully unintelligible medical terms for cause of death. It is refreshing to read the following on a Missouri death certificate: "Died suddenly, nothing serious."
Or, "Unknown. Had never been fatally ill before."
Most of us can relate to the following, "Don't know. Died without the aid of a physician."
Here is honesty at its best, "Primary cause - blow on head with axe. Contributory cause - another man's wife."
Then from Massachusetts: "Worn out."

HUMOR FROM TECH SUPPORT
===========================================

* The following is an actual incident from the telephone support line of a genealogy software company:
Customer: "Hello Support, I am trying to print a Pedigree Chart for my ancestor John Doe, but the spaces on the chart for his parents, grandparents, and so forth are blank."
Support: "Let's look for John Doe's parents in your family file, it appears that he is not linked to them."
Customer: "That's not possible because I don't know who they are. John Doe is the farthest back I can go on that line."

HUMOR IN GENERAL
===========================================

The difference between a geologist and a genealogist is that one digs in the dirt and sometimes find artifacts, while the other digs in facts and sometimes finds dirt.
