Sloan Connection Banner

Welcome to Frank Mitchell's Sloan Connection

The intent of this Website is to serve as a clearing house for all Sloan researchers and Sloan Family information.  It's not limited by my own personal Sloan line. My goal (and my hobby) is to collect all the Sloan genealogy data I can get my hands on, find the connections between all the different families and finally, disseminate the information to anyone that is interested. Hopefully I can do all this with minimum or no cost to anyone. I have been adding to my Sloan database(s) for the past 30+ years, and with the invention of the internet it's growing by leaps and bounds. I have over 100,100 Sloans and descendants in my main on-line database, including over 7,666 aliases. Right now the on-line database is updated about very month. My at-home database increases daily and has over 92,500. I have also discovered the world's largest depository of unprocessed Sloan material, It's called MY IN-BOX.  If you can't find who you are looking for - write me a note!! Contact Info

My obsession for Sloan collecting I owe to Monita Horn. Years ago I thought I had my Archibald Sloan line of Blount Co. TN. all worked out thanks to the Will E. Parham Papers and a couple of DAR applications. Then someone pointed me towards Monita as THE expert on these Sloans from North Carolina. Monita quickly straighten me out that NO, those sources were all fouled up and this was NOT my Archibald Sloan. Since both of our lines were full of Archibalds, we thought there must a connection. We started researching and "Collecting" Archibald Sloans. One thing lead to another and somewhere along the line we started researching all Sloans. Monita is the mistress of microfilms and I'm the computer nerd. For many years Monita has searched the census records for Sloans, typed them up and mailed them to me. I punched them into the computer and the "Sloan Connection" was born. I can never understand why I'm always behind when Monita is the one that does the hard work. Maybe someday I will have her intuitive knack for figuring these lines out. Monita, THANKS
PS A Second Thanks!!  I think you finally found the "right connection" for me!!
