This is the last Will and Testament of me Hammerden MAJOR of the town of Folkestone in the county of Kent (Gentleman) made and published the twenty third day of April One thousand eight hundred and forty six I direct my just debts funeral and Testamentary Expences to be paid by my executrix and Executor hereinafter named as soon as convenient may be after my decease I give and bequeath unto my son Richard Moore MAJOR a sum of sixty pounds subject to deductions from his Rent due to me at my decease I give and bequeath all my Household furniture Plate Linen China and other effectsof whatsoever kind being in my Dwelling House at my decease unto my Dear Wife Sarah Anne for her absolute use and benefit I also give and bequeath unto my Dear wife Sarah Anne all rents dividends or other receipts that may be due unto me or to become due at my decease to hold the same for her own absolute use and benefit I also give in Trust unto my said Executrix and Executor two thirds part of such principal Monies as might happen to be vested in Government (or other) Securities, the interest of the same for my dear wife to have during her natural life for her own benefit and such Interest as might be due at her decease to be added to the principal to be equally divided share and share alike between my two Daughters viz Mary Ann and Sarah Ann their heirs and assigns for ever in the event of my said Daughters not survive my wife and if no child or children (surviving) in equal shares and if no child surviving then unto the Will of said wife her heirs and assigns forever I give and bequeath unto my Son Isaac Cane MAJOR his heir and assigns for ever the remaining third part of such funded property or other Securities allowing my Dear wife first to take such Dividends or Interest as may be to become due thereon at my decease I also give unto my son Isaac Cane MAJOR for his absolute use and benefit all kind of live stock dead stock implements that may be elsewhere than in my Dwelling House revoking all former Wills and Testament and thereof appoint my said wife Sarah Ann and my son Isaac Cane MAJOR to be my Executrix and and Executor In witness whereof I have to the first sheet set my hand and to this second sheet set my hand and seal the day and year before written Hammerden MAJOR seal Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the joint presence of us who have at the same time hereto subscribed our Names as Witnesses in the presence of the said Testator and of each other William BENNET Snr Richard HAMMON (Snr?)

In the Name of God Amen I Robert MARSH in the town of Folkestone in the County of Kent fisherman being in good health and of sound and disposing mind memory praise be given to Almighty God for the same make and declare this my last Will and Testament and in manner following (that is to say) First I give my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Heavenly Father hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer to have forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit everlasting life and my body to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as to such worldly estate wherewith in hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give devise and bequeath the same in manner and form following (that is to say) Inprimus I give and devise unto my loving wife Elizabeth all that messuages or tenaments and premises with appurtenances wherein I now dwell situate on the Back part of a certain street called Fishermans Row in the Town of Folkestone aforesaid and near unto the Stade there and also and equal moiety or half part of a capstane near the said messuages or tenaments which belongs to me and my brother Laurence MARSH and also all that other messuages or tenaments and premises with the appurtenances which I lately purchased of John CLERK situate at the lower end of the said street called Fishermans Row in aforesaid which said messuages or tenaments and premises I hold of the Lord of the Manor of Folkestone and have lately surrendered the same unto the hands of the said Lord of the said Manor to such use and uses intents and purposes as I should by my last Will and Testament in writing nominate direct or appoint to hold the said messuages or tenaments moiety of the said capstone and premises unto my said loving wife Elizabeth and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life in case she so long continues a widow she and they during that time keeping the same in good tenable repair and from and immediately after her decease or marrying again then I give and devise all that my messuages and tenaments and premises wherein I now dwell with the moiety of the said capstane unto my son Stephen MARSH his heirs and assigns forever and the said other messuages and tenaments and premises which I lately purchased from John CLERK unto my son Thomas MARSH his heirs and assigns forever Item I give and bequeath unto my said loving wife Elizabeth the use of all and singular my household goods nets ropes and fishing tackling parts and shares of boats mortgages bonds bills notes ready monies and all other personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind so ever except such sum or sums of money as my Executors hereinafter named shall have occasion for to pay and discharge all my just debts legacies funeral expenses and the probate of this my last Will and Testament for and during the time and term of her natural life in case she so long continues a widow and from and immediately after her decease or marrying again Then I give and bequeath all above said personal estate unto my said two sons Stephen and Thomas their Executors and Administrators for ever equally to be divided between them share and share alike Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto her within six months next after the decease or marrying again of my said wife Elizabeth her mother by my Executors hereinafter named Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Alice the like sum of lawful money to be likewise paid to her within six months next after the decease or marrying again of my wife Elizabeth by my Executors hereinafter named Item I give and bequeath unto my sister Katherine MARSH my sister Ann the wife of William MARTIN my brother Laurence MARSH and my cousin John LADD or LADE of Folkestone aforesaid carpenter the sum of one guinea a piece of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto them by my Executors hereinafter named within one month next after my decease for to buy them rings Item all the rest and residue of my goods and chattels debts credits and estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before beqeathed after all my just debts legacies funeral expences and the probate of this my last Will and Testament shall be first paid and satisfied I give devise and bequeath unto my said sons Stephen and Thomas their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I hereby make and ordain and appoint my said sons Stephen and Thomas Executors of this my last Will and Testament and do hereby revoke and make void all former and other wills by me and declare this to be and contain my last

In the name of God Amen. I Elizabeth Mummery of the parish of Folkestone in the County of Kent widow being aged but of sound and perfect memory praise be given to Almighty God for the same and knowing and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life on Earth and being desirous to settle my worldly Estate in order to make and publish my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say. First and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God my Creator afirmedly believing that I shall arise full rouifoism?? And pardon of all my sins and be saved by the previous? Death and resurrection? Of my blessed saviour and Redeemer Jesus Christ. My body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors here after named. As concerning such worldly estate as the Lord in mercy? Hath sent me my will and meaning is that the same shall be employed and followed? As how after by this my Will as expressed And first I give and bequeath unto my grandson John LAWSON the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Great Britain likewise a gold ring and two pairs of shoots/sheets? For the use of him and his heirs. I do also give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Mary LAWSON the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money of Great Britain likewise a gold ring and two pairs of shoots/sheets? For the use of her and her heirs. Which said legacies of thirty and twenty pounds above mentioned I order my executors to put out to interest upon good security for the use of the said John and Mary LAWSON till they are at the age of twenty one. And if either of my said grandchildren John or Mary LAWSON shall die before he or she over roms? To the age of twenty one aforesaid then my will is that all the abovesaid legacy of the doroafod? Shall devolve and fall to the survivor of them. I also give unto John LAWSON son of Robert LAWSON the sum of ten pounds of like lawful money of Great Britain to find him necessary wearing apparel during the term of his apprenticeship. I give unto Catherine HOBBS now the wife of Henry ATWELLthe sum of ten shillings of like lawful money. I give unto Thomas MUMMERYthe son of Thomas MUMMERY the sum of five shillings. I give unto Stephen MUMMERY son of Stephen MUMMERY the sum of five shillings. I give unto William MUMMERYson of John MUMMERY he like sum of five shillings. And lastly after the abovesaid legacies, my just debts and funeral charges are paid I give unto my son John LAWSON all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels and everything as well unnamed as named that comes under the denomination of moveables. Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint Mr William ROLFE and John LAWSON senior joint Executors of this my last will and testament requiring them to pay all my just debts and funeral charges with all convenient speed after my decease and I declare this only to be my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper, revoking, annulling and making void all other wills by me heretofore made. I John MUMMERY of the parish of Folkestone in the County of Kent Marksmith, being weak and infirm in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praised be God for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First and principally from my love of God Almighty my Creator hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour to have free pardon and forgiveness of all my sins and to inherit eternal life. And my body I will to be interred with Christian burial at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named. Item I give and devise unto my six children, namely John MUMMERY, Elizabeth wife of Andrew BARTLETT, William MUMMERY, Mary wife of George ANDREWS, Stephen MUMMERY and Thomas MUMMERY and for each and every one of them ten shillings of lawful money of Great Britain a piece to be paid unto them respectively by my Executrix hereinafter named within six months next after my decease. Item all the rest, residue and remainder of my goods, chattels and personal estate whatsoever and wheresover not herein bequeathed (after all my just debts, funeral expenses and charges of proving and executing this my last will and testament shall be fully paid and satisfied) I give and devise the same and every part thereof unto my loving wife Elizabeth whom I make and ordain sole Executrix of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me heretofore made to this my present last will and testament contained in this one sheet of paper I have set my hand and seal dated this nine and twentieth day of April in the eleventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the Grace of God King of Great Britain Anno Domini 1725. This is the last Will and Testament of one Mary MUMMERY now of St George's Place Canterbury daughter of the late Robert MUMMERY carrier of Folkestone I Give and Devise to my two nephews John Rigden MUMMERY Surgeon Dentist of Dover and Austin Robert STACE Tinman of Strood whom I constitute my executors of this my last will and testament all my real and personal property and all I have in reversion or be heir to (in trust) for them to divide in the manner following after my just debts are discharged the expences of my funeral paid and other charges attending this trust I wish my few articles of jewelry to be given to my niece Mary STACE my watch to my nephew Edward MUMMERY my wearing apparel to be divided between my two sisters Susanna STACE the wife of Austin and Catherine STACE the wife of John STACE I give to my brother George Rigden MUMMERY of Henley on Thames what sum or sums of money he may spend indebted to one at the time of my decease together with what furniture and other effects he may have of mine under his care excepting the Books and then whatever monies or other property I may possess or be heir to the half part of the whole to be divided equally between my two beforementioned sisters Susanna and Catherine their Heirs Executors or Assigns from the remaining half I give and devise to my two nephews John Rigden MUMMERY and Austin Robert STACE ten pounds each on condition of their acting as my Executors to this my last will and testament I give to the treasurer for the time being of the Baptist Missionary Society ten pounds in trust for the use of the general purposes of that society together with the Books belonging to me now under the care of my brother George Rigden MUMMERY at Henley on Thames. To the treasurer the Baptist Irish Society for the time being ten pounds in trust for the use of the general purposes of that society. To the treasurer of the Canterbury City Mission Society five pounds in trust for the use of the general purposes of that society to Mrs Susannah PARNELL if it should please the Lord that I die at her house five pounds my few books which I may have here or elsewhere excepting those at Henley I wish my esteemed pastor the Revd. William DAVIES to select what he chooses from and the remainder to be given to the Minister employed by the City Missionary Society as their agent. I Robert MUMMERY the Elder, cordwainer of the town of Folkestone do make this my last and only will and testament, at my demise I do will and bequeath to my loving wife Mary MUMMERY all my real and personal estates of every kind whatsoever and after her demise all to be equally divided amongst my nine 9 children and their heirs viz Mary, Susanna, Robert, John, Thomas, Catherine, William, George and Charles *** my own hand this twelfth day of January 1799. In the name of God Amen I Thomas PAGE of Terlingham in the parish of Folkestone in the county of Kent Yeoman being of sound mind and memory but duly mindful of my mortality do make this my last Will and Testament at the same time revoking all wills by me heretofore made declaring this to be my last Will and Testament First I will and direct that all my just debts due and owing by me at the time of my decease be duly paid together with my funeral and testamentary expences and the proving of this my last will Then I further will and direct that the whole of my personal property stock in trade farming implements household furniture china linen and glass and everything I am possessed off whatsoever shall be equally divided between my two sons and three daughters namely Thomas PAGE of Terlingham in the aforesaid parish of Folkestone Yeoman Richard PAGE of the same place Elizabeth PAGE Charlotte PAGE and Mary PAGE spinsters share and share alike And I hereby appoint my brother Richard PAGE of Sandgate in the parish of Cheriton in the aforesaid county Sawyer and my before mentioned son Thomas PAGE jointly Executors of this my last will and Testament to which I hereunto set my Hand and Seal this sixteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine Thos PAGE (seal) Signed Sealed and Declared in the presence of the undermentioned witnesses The mark of X Richard PAGE witness to the signature of the testator also to the mark of Richard PAGE P.M. WILL OF ZECHARIAH PETMAN

This is the last Will and Testament of me Zechariah PETMAN of the town of Folkestone in the county of Kent Mariner in manner following. I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my wife Margaret PETMAN my son Zechariah PETMAN and to Henry SMITH the Grandson of my said wife All that my copyhold messuage or Tenements Ground Hereditaments and premises situate near the Stade in the said town of Folkestone and now in my own occupation and all other my real Estate as well freehold as copyhold together with my household furniture plate linen and china. Boats parts and shares of Boats and nets moneys and ? for money and all other my personal Estate To hold all the same until my said wife Margaret PETMAN my said son Zechariah PETMAN and the said Henry SMITH and their assigns for and during the term of their natural lives and the life of the survivor or longer liver of them. And from the decease of the survivor or longer liver of them the said Margaret PETMAN Zechariah PETMAN and Henry SMITH Then I Give Devise and Bequeath the said copyhold messuage or Tenement Hereditaments and premises and all other my said real Estate together with such part of my personal Estate as shall remain unto and equally amongst my daughter Mary the wife of Emptage SPEARPOINT my daughter Ann the wife of Chrles OVENDEN and the children (if any) of my son Zechariah and the children (if any) of the said Henry Smith in manner following. One fourth part to my said daughter Mary SPEARPOINT her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns. One other fourth part to my said daughter Ann OVENDEN her Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns One other fourth part to the child or children of the said Zechariah PETMAN his her or their said Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns And the remaining one fourth part to the child or children of the said Henry SMITH his her or their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns Provided always that in case either or any of them the said Mary SPEARPOINT Ann OVENDEN Zechariah PETMAN and Henry SMITH shall depart this life without issue lawfully begotten then I give the part or parts of such of them so dying without issue unto the survivors or survivor of them and the issue of such of them dying leaving issue equally divided between them and their Heirs and Assigns such issue taking only their parents share And I do appoint my said son Zechariah PETMAN and Thomas SPEARPOINT the ElderExecutors of this my will and I do revoke all former wills In ? whereof I have hereunto set my hand and that this Third day of September one thousand eight hundred and fourty The mark X and seal of the Testator Zechariah PETMAN Signed sealed published and declared by the Testator as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Henry SANDERS of Folkestone Grocer Geo. The before registered will of Zechariah PETMAN deceased was proved the twenty seventh day of January 1844 before the Reverend John METCALFE Clerk Surrogate to the Worshipful Sherrard Beaumont BARNABY ? Doctor of Laws Official General to the Reverand the Archdeacon of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Zechariah PETMAN Son of the deceased one of the Executors named in the said will He being the first sworn duly to perform the same (Power reserved of making the same grant to Thomas SPEARPOINT the Elder the other Executor when he shall apply for the same)

This is the last will and testament of me George PILCHER of Bates
Hotel Folkestone in the county of Kent Hotel Proprietor I give all my
property to my dear wife Mary PILCHER and appoint her the sole
Executrix of this my will in witness whereof I have set my hand to this

This is the last will and testament of me Henry Richard PILCHER of
Folkstone in the County of Kent Coal Merchant. I give and bequeath all
my real and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Wife
Caroline Bennett PILCHER. And I appoint Richard Marsh COURT of
Folkestone aforesaid Coad Merchant sole Executer of this my will. In

WILL OF JAMES MORFORD PILCHER

This is the last will and Testament of me James Morford PILCHER of number 7 Abbott Road Folkestone in the County of Kent made this fourth day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand nine hundred and fourteen. I hereby revolse all wills made by me at anytime heretofore I appoint my wife Clara Ann PILCHER and George William PILCHER of 7 Abbotts Road Folkestone Kent to being Executor and divert that all my debts and funeral expenses shall be paid as soon as convenintly may be after my decease. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Clara Lousia May PILCHER my share of the house situate in 7 Abbott Road and to my wife Clara Ann PILCHER all that I may have left.

Be it known that at the date hereunder written letters of administration of the personal estate of Lucy PILCHER late of 49 Fenchurch street Folkestone in the county of Kent deceased, who died on the 4th day of June 1887 at No. 49 Fenchurch Street aforesaid a widow and intestate, and had at the time of her death a fixed place of abode at No. 49 Fenchurch Street aforesaid with the district of the East Division of the County of Kent were granted by Her Majesty's High Court of Justice at the District Registry attached to the probate division thereof at Canterbury to James Morford PILCHER of No. 2 Bayle Street Folkestone aforesaid Carter the natural and lawful son and one of the next of kin of the said intestate, he haveing sworn well and faithfully to administer the same sureties George William PILCHER of No. 2 Bayle Street Folkestone aforesaid Porter and Henry PILCHER of 8 Bradstone Road Folkestone aforesaid Carter dated the 12 day of April 1889 gross value of personal estate �202 18s 1d 33rd section extracted by FIELDING And Son Solicitors Dover

Last will and testament of William PILCHER of the town of Folkestone in the county of Kent Yeoman. Desire to be directly interred at the direction of a Thomas MINTER who is married to my neice late Susanna GIBBS and Thomas GODDEN who is married to a Susanna SHEARING the grand daughter of my late wife whom so hereby appoint executors. He left three tenements to Thomas GODDEN and Susanna, which was occupied, by William PILCHER, John OSLATE and himself. Caple is mentioned he had lands there, which were purchased by John PILCHER. These were occupied by John PILCHER but now occupied by Thomas MARKS. These were to be sold and given to Thomas GODDEN and Susanna. Third part to my daughter in law Susanna May. Third part to my daughter in law Mary SMITH. Third part to Thomas MINTER and Susanna at the moment in the occupation of Thomas BLAKE Also I give and devise unto the said Thomas MINTER and Susanna his wife all those three freeholds with the yards etc situate at Crate Hill Folkestone. (This could be called Crete Hill now) I give all my wearing apparel of allsorts to William SHEARING the brother of the said Susanna GODDEN the sum of twenty pounds to be paid to him within twelve calendar months after my decease. Also I give to my said daughter in law Susanna MAY the sum of fifty pounds. Also I give all my said furniture plate linen and all the rest and of my personal estate whatsoever unto the said Susanna MINTER and Susanna GODDEN. Codicil 19th June 1801 I give and bequeath unto Susannah KINGSFORD the daughter of Edmund KINGSFORD of the town of Folkestone My housekeeper the sum of twenty pounds also to Ann GIBBS late the wife of Roger GIBBS of the town of folk stone Mariner the sum of five pound. It is my desire that Susanna KINGSFORD my housekeeper that mourning apparels be given to her. Six of my tenants (who shall be named) be my pallbearers and that silk Hat bands and gloves be given to them also that my tenants wives and women have gloves given them. That the Minister of the Church of folk stone preaches my favourite sermon and be given a Guinea. I give and devise unto my nephews Roger, Thomas and Martin GIBBS the sons of my sister tenements etc in the parish of Sarokinge?(This could be Hawkinge) In the said county. in the occupation of JONES. It may said that my said three nephews may be now dead and I have not heard of them for several years.
