Last Will & Testament of
Francis Clark Sr.

Line of descent: Francis, Sarah, Sarah Moorman, Andrew Moorman Dumas Sr., Andrew Moorman Dumas Jr., Eleanor Dumas, William Moore, Jonas Moore, Marshall Thomas Moore Sr.

In the name of God, Amen. I Francis Clark, the Elder, of Louisa County do make this _____ writing to be my last Will and Testament in manner following.

Imprimis I give to my son Joseph Clark two hundred acres of land whereon he now lives to him and his heirs forever.

Item I give to Isham Haley One Hundred Acres of land adjoining to my son Joseph's _____ to him and his heirs forever.

Item I give to my daughter Agnes Haley two hundred Acres of land whereon she now lives to her and her Heirs forever, also one Negro girl named Beck? during? her natural life after? her death I give this Beck to my Grand Daughter Cordelia Haley to her and her Heirs forever.

Item I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Haley four shillings, to my Son Ths. Clark five shillings, to my son Isaac five shillings, to my son John four? shillings, to my son Francis five shillings, to my son Christopher five shillings.

Item I give to my daughter Sarah Moorman two pounds current money.

Item I give to my Grandson Francis Clark, son the John Clark two hundred acres of land lying on the head of Crop? Creek to him and his heirs forever.

Item my will and desire is that my Execs to sell in fee simple my tract of land on [Stoney]_____ run in Hanover County to the best bidder, and my will and desire is that the money arising from such sale be equally divided among my five sons_____ Thos, John, Isaac, Francis, and Christopher.

Item _____ the _____ and residue of my Estate, Real and Personal, that is to say Lands, Mill, Negros, Stocks, Household goods, Debts?, Money, and other Estate whatever I lend ____ and above to my daughter Ursula Clark during her life, and after her Death I give and devise the same to the heirs of her body Lawfully begotten forever, but in case this? Ursula shall die without lawful issue, my Will is that all the Estate hereby given her shall be sold by my Execs in fee simple and the money arising from such sale I give to all my children but shall be then _____ to the Heirs of those who are Dec'd. My Will is that in case my Daughter Ursula or any person with whom she may intermarry shall at any time waste, destroy, misuse or abuse any part of the estate hereby given her for life, in that case I will that said? Ursula or the person she may Marry shall immediately or in reasonable time make ____ such lapse? misuses, waste, or abuse and give bond and good security to my Execs. Not to commit any other waste or abuse of the aforesaid estate. ____ ____ failure of giving such Security my Will is that my Execs. shall take the whole? of ____ Estate into their Hands and _____ be safely kept for the use of said Ursula during her life, she receiving the profits ______ from my Execs. and after her Death my Will is that they redeliver? the same to the Heirs of her body lawfully begotten, and on failure of such Heirs Iwill that my Execs sell the said Estate as aforesaid and pay the money it produces to my children as before mentioned.

Lastly I constitute and appoint my executers Joseph Clark, Thomas Clark and Isaac Clark Executers of this my last Will hereby revoking all other Wills by me heretofore made. In Witness whereof I have herewith set my hand and seal this 13th day of January? One thousand seven hundred and sixty nine
