Daniel Auvel's Will
I, Daniel Auvel, of Monongalia County and State of Virginia do hereby make my last will and testament in the manner and form following that is to say - First I desire that all of my just debts and funeral expences be paid out of my estate. Secondly After the payment of my debts and funeral expences I give and bequeth unto my wife Susanna Auvel all the residue of my estate during her natural life provided she remains my widow and after her decease I give and bequeth the same to my following children namely Daniel, George, John, Elias, Lydda, Harriet and Anna Auvel to be equally divided amongst them and enjoyed by them forever. But if she should marry again it is my will and desire that on the happening of such event that she have but the one third part of my estate the remaining two thirds to be equally distributed amongst the above named children as they may respectively come of age, and lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Susanna Auvel sole executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made.

Signed sealed published and declared as and for the last will and testament of the above named Daniel Auvel in the presence of William F. John, Wm. John. At a court held for Monongalia county February term 1838 the foregoing last will and testament of Daniel Auvel dec'd was produced in court duly proven by the oath of William F. John and WIlliam John witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
