TOWN OF BERNARDSTON,
Franklin County, Massachusetts
The town of Bernardston was established in 1762 and was originally called Falltown. In 1779 part of Bernardston was given to Colrain and in 1784, part of Bernardston became Leyden. In 1838 Bernardston received land from Greenfield and in 1886 Bernardston received more land from Leyden.
